Oo, lots of scans coming up this week :) Good luck to everyone with one coming up, mine is on Thursday so I'm swinging between being excited and incredibly nervous at the moment.

Hugs to those who aren't good with needles. Luckily I'm not too bad with them as I am at risk of blood clots in pregnancy so will have to inject myself with blood thinning drugs throughout the 3rd trimester.

I haven't suffered from headaches myself, tea, but I believe the 4-head stuff that you rub on your forehead is supposed to be quite good if you wanted an alternative to paracetamol.

As for me, I have the cold from hell and have been feeling like poop since last Thursday :( I've been resisting taking paracetamol, but I'm so fed up with feeling rough that I'm close to giving in and having some. The gallons of hot lemon and honey I've been drinking really aren't doing much to help.

But, on the plus side, I haven't noticed feeling nauseous for the past couple of days, so that might be passing. Or it might just be that the cold symptoms are so bad that I can't detect feeling sick as well :o

TACC - Ive been having really bad headaches as well, and the paracetomol isn't really helping! I never normally have headaches either so they're a real pain to deal with atm

DH gave me a lovely head massage yesterday which did get rid of the headache, so maybe ask your OH to try and see if it makes a difference?

I woke up early this morning with a really burning hungry feeling, not had that before. Hungriness is off the scale right now - it probably means the baby is growing well, so its a good thing!

Hope everyone else is doing well!
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

Yep mogwai, I fluctuated between eating everything in sight and going off my food practically completely (even once the nausea was gone)....

    Hi ladies,

hope everyone is doing ok. Just popping in quickly to see what everyone is up to. Exciting that there are lots of scans and appointments happening! :)

I am 9 weeks tmrw and still haven't heard a peep from the hospital/midwives even though I went to the docs three weeks ago. I have been reading a few discussion threads on baby websites and it seems to be pretty disorganised in my area - people not even being booked in until after 12 weeks and not being scanned until sometimes 16 or 20 weeks!

I'm not happy at all. How can they just leave you for that long knowing it is your first baby and you probably have a load of questions to ask? I have heard it is common in my area to not get any correspondence until at least 10 weeks so if I haven't heard by this time next week I will phone the hospital and see what they are playing at. We have decided that if they are going to be so slow then we will pay for a private scan at 12 weeks. Ridiculous that we might have to do that though!!

Anyhoo - nausea is so so so bad right now and is still 24/7. It is really draining and getting me down. I had to have a few days off work last week as I just couldn't move becuase I was feeling so ill. I bought sea bands and they have helped a little, but nothing else does - I've tried all the 'home remedies' and advice. Ah well, fingers crossed it passes in a few weeks as I've had it non stop for 4 weeks already :(

Hope everyone has a good week! :)

Well back from the scan and the trip around to tell the OH's family!

Staying in here a few more days as little blob is a few days younger than expected - aroundd 11+3ish rather than 12. They could not to the full checks that they needed to do (measured just shy under the limit - something like 46.5mm rather rather than 47mm which is minimum for the checks) so we are going back next Fri. Have our first initial scan pic but will get more next week.

    But :j lol!

Phone them and chase -they may not have received the referral. Happened with me...

Me too - my referral went astray, but when my GP faxed it across I had an appointment within a few days (for several weeks' time, but the letter arrived quickly!)

Hmm that's interesting because I know I ovulated on day 20 so if I get a scan bang on 12 weeks I know that really I am 11 -but I did tell the dr this. Although I may not get it that soon I guess anyway but it does make me wonder why they don't go from ovulation dates if you know it, if you have to go back a second time if the baby is too small!
