My toothbrush made me vomit the other week (can't remember the day - think it was Monday). I was sick Exorcist stylie yesterday and I'm 12+6.

My bump is different to the bloating bump that I had. It's hard and I have a little shelf below my boobs.

Oh goodness - poor you - I hope you were at home. My bloat bump is so bloated that I might have a hard bump underneath it all but I can't get to it through all the bloat! It gets worse throughout the day and by the end of it I feel as though I am wearing one of those sumo suits!!!!

I am expecting to see just an expanse of air on the scan picture as at the moment I don't feel pregnant - just bloated :(

You will be. Mine appeared after my scan.

I need to use an elastic band on my work pants. I'm dreading shopping for new work pants. Trouser/ jeans shopping is a demoralising task at the best of times!

Yes, I was home but only just. I'd been on a night out with my friends and had to leave early. I never go home early! I must have been in the house for all of two minutes!
  • The exorcist-style is the worst, and it hurts more than usual with the gagging, yuck.

If you want to be a bit MSE, buy your maternity clothes early but make sure they will last the duration of the pregnancy, if not through to nursing even!
I bought mine all online, some 2nd hand from ebay and some new from Isabella Oliver (on sale luckily as they are bloomin' expensive). If you are after more versatile clothes, wrap style cardigans or dresses will see you for quite a while and maxi dresses are also a possibility. I'd also get a good pair of maternity jeans, just make sure they aren't too tight to begin with as my thighs expanded pretty dramatically later on. Maternity skirts are quite comfy and hide a multitude of sins, and maternity leggings are also quite good.

As my boobs grew first (both the band and cup size) when I bought maternity bras I specifically bought nursing bras rather than maternity ones in the hope that they'll be useful when I'm breastfeeding. We'll have to see if I'm still the same cup-size when BF, but I can hope (and one of the bras was adjustable cup-sized!). In any case they were a good buy as I've worn them every day while pregnant (after my sports bras got too tight!).

You can also look into just getting 'bra extenders' at first (which is essentially just a little strip of extra hooks and eyes that you hook your bra into)

Thanks savageHK - I am trying to put off buying new bras - for how much longer I don't know - but like you say, if you want to be MSE, you don't want to end up buying several lots of clothing.

I did buy 2 lovely Boden maternity dresssed today thanks to the grabbit thread - 30% off with another 15% code! Read the reviews and they said that they were worn throughout - so hopefully a bit of MSE there! I didn't want to buy maternity clothes before my first scan incase of jinxing things but I will leave them in their bag until the scan just incase - I couldn't resist 45% off at Boden!;)

    evening everybody!

Big ((hugs)) too all those suffering with nausea and vomiting... not fun. I keep thinking I've turned a corner and am feeling better, and then it all starts again! Poor DH has food poisoning today so it's a fight for the bathroom in our household!

I definitely agree with the 'if you don't look it's ok' approach for having blood taken - I hate it, but as long as I don't see any of the process I can handle it.

Had a nasty dizzy experience on the train into work recently - had to get off the train to get some fresh air and wait for the next train to come along, I honestly thought I was going to faint as it was so crowded and I didn't get a seat :(

Scan on Wednesday, am very nervous and very excited all at the same time. Hope Wednesday will come round quickly as the waiting is making me even more anxious!

I told my (horrible) boss I'm pregnant and she did lots of fake smiles and congratulations.. and then has been a total b1tch to me since, as usual, so work is not much fun but it does feel like a big relief to have told work.

Thanks for the tips on maternity clothes, I can't do up any trousers, eBay looks to be a good place for some bargains :money:although I do want to get a new pair of jeans that fit well - I'm quite short so struggle with finding jeans at the best of times.

Anyway, sorry have just waffled about me... who else has a scan this week? Good luck to everybody going for scans and big ((hugs)) for all those feeling rubbish, I'm clinging on to the hope that we will all 'bloom' in a few weeks time!!

:rotfl: Thank you for making me laugh!! She does indeed wear posh (and very expensive) shoes, so I think I'll go for that option :D

Will definitely let you all know how the scan goes! It's so nice having the support on here, especially as we haven't told many people in real life yet!

I knew she would! She sounds the type!;)

Try and have a blue raspberry slushpuppy beforehand - the colour will be amazing!

I agree about the sharing here - its great to have people to share laughs/moans etc with - I have only told 4 people in "real life" (apart from the father of course - but hes not much good at discussing things like bras and eleasticated waists!:D).

I'd recommend mamas & papas for maternity jeans, they're the best quality ones I found, feel like real jeans (some mat jeans are made from awful thin stretchy stuff) and they fit really well. Asos is also great for basics xx
