I had my scan letter last week and mine's on 5th December when I'll be 12+4, and that feels like ages away! I keep going through phases of feeling really excited at the thought of seeing our baby and being able to share the news. Then the what if it's bad news thought comes into my mind, and I get a bit scared. I know I need to stay positive, for my own sanity if nothing else, but it's really hard when you hear/read about things going wrong.
My scan is a day before yours and I will be 12+6 (to my calculations) and I feel exactly the same as you - although I am going to try and hide it at work a bit longer - will tell some friends and family though.
anderson8 - Congratulations and welcome onboard again! :T
Does anyone know about shingles - I have had chickenpox but never had shingles - but there was someone at work who had shingles - they are off for the next few days - I don't have contact with them on a daily basis or anything - is this a risk at all especially as I have had chicken pox? Thanks in advance.0 -

I have laid off the forum for a bit cos I feel kinda left out-I've not been sick or particularly nauseous at all, reading about yyou guys got me kiinda worried that something is wrong. My mum said she never suffered with sickness at all so maybe I won't. I do however feel constant;y hungry! My belly rumbles when I wake up, I am eating a lot but then get hungry again pretty soon after! I do generally have quite a fast metabolism but this is crazy! Trying to eat healthily as i really don't wanna gain a lot of weight as i'm really short!
Had first midwife app last wk, just forms, going back again weds for bloods. she asked my height and shoe size and my partner's height-I'm 4ft11, size 4 feet and he's almost 6 ft! she seemed a bit worried!which really worried me! :-(
Dippy, I never had any sickness at all and constantly worried that I didn't and everyone else did! xxBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -

I don't have a scan date yet, won't until I see midwife on the 26thSo I'll be here another four weeks yet!
We want to find out as it's our first
Oh thanks I use half a tin for a sandwich so I could have four in that case. Ate a yoghurt at work today and felt so ill I had to come home and work from the laptop. My friend covered for md saying I had to let the boiler guy in incase any one asked why I was working from home. Just waiting til Friday rolls round now for my docs appt.0 -

My line manager's wife had it so he checked with the dr as was worried about passing it on. You have to have had skin to skin contact with the person to catch it so less contagious than chicken pox.0 -

teaandcupcakes - hope your first midwife appointment goes well this afternoon!
I am counting the minutes until my scan a week tomorrow! Feel very excited about it, and then have waves of feeling very nervous in case all is not ok, can't quite believe there might actually be a baby in there!
After all the talk of fab lollies on here I sent DH out to get some lollies last night, they didn't have any fabs at our local Tesco Express but he found fruit pastille lollies - YUM! I don't usually like cold things, and especially not ice lollies in November, but it was amazing!!
Telling my boss tomorrow... terrified! She is not the easiest person at the best of times. I'll be so glad when it's out in the open though, at least I'll have an excuse for looking so awful all the time and for my terrible memory!
Have a good day everybody0 -
Morning ladies. Good luck today teaandcupcakes, hope it goes well. I don't know why mine has been split up into 2-last wk's first app was just form filling and going back tomorrow for the blood-taking!Actually dreading this now-5 vials of blood?? Makes me feel faint just thinking of it! I am 9 wks and 4 day now and still no sickness, huge appetite though, never normally eat for a couple of hours after getting up-but i am starving at 7am!!
I feel a bit nervous for when the time comes to tell my boss! He is nice and I get on really well with him, just think people will be surprised as I am so immature!lol0 -
dippydooda - consider yourself lucky! I havent been physically sick yet, that would be the worst, but I have a low level nausea a lot of time which makes it impossible to enjoy all the food ive been scoffing! lol
though i have been especially enjoying ice lollies mm
and don't worry too much about the blood tests - its over pretty quickly and not that painful - as long as you don't look!We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
