Fab lollies are my weakness as well. They really hit the spot. I'm developing an ickle bump as well which is great. My tum feels hard and, when I sit on the floor with my knees up it feels like there is something in the way.

I'm having my scan on Tuesday :)
  • Hi everyone, I had a scan yesterday and saw the little flutters of heartbeat, was amazing. Am 8 weeks today so will be getting my 12 week scan before Christmas, yay! And seeing the midwife on the 26th Nov now so a week on Monday.
Feeling less nauseous today, sticking with nibbling whatever I fancy which seems to work. Today is cupcakes and tea and strawberries :)

My DH hasn't been to either of my midwife appointments, but he'll be at the scans. I know his family medical history, which is the only thing he's really needed for at the booking appointment.

Your comment about needing to prepare mentally for a boy made me laugh, IHateDida - I felt exactly the same way about girls! :p Can't think of any names I really like, clothes are very same-y and everything's pink! Boys clothes just seemed to come in a much wider variety of colours. We didn't find out the sex last time so it was a relief when a boy popped out :o But now that I know a few people with little girls, I'm reassured that there's plenty of choice and lots of colours other than pink, so I could cope if this one is a girl. I think we'll still struggle with girl's names though.

I've been craving grapes too, which I did last time as well. Though it's green ones this time, whereas it was red last time.

Good news about the scan, Sparkles :) And yay for a 12 week scan before Christmas. Will you be doing a Christmas announcement?

    Good luck for Tuesday, snozberry.
You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.
  • Not an announcement so much but we're spending Christmas with all of our extended family so it'll be nice to tell them rather than them wonder why I am turning down my favourite tipple and pate!

We're going to find out but will be happy with a boy or a girl :) We've thought of two names for each too, have had them for ages :o

Havent posted on here much as been sick pretty much every day! And totally exhausted. The nausea is pretty much 24/7 and being sick in the morning and when I get home from work.

I took two days off and then the 3rd day I went into work and told my boss because it was stressing me out keeping it a secret and then still being ill.

Yesterday I actually managed to eat an entire sandwich but today the feelings are back again. Luckily (tmi) im not bringing much up just retching so Im not worried about getting dehydrated or keeping nutrients etc.

Mens aftershave makes me want to puke though, one guy in my office stinks so my friend at work who Ive told is going to tell him his aftershave gives her a migraine to try to get him to tone it down!

we had a mini emergency in our house last night - we ran out of fab lollies! eek! Thankfully, we live fairly close to a supermarket and were able to nip out at 9pm to get some.

Those of you who have had 8 week scans, is this because you booked a private one?

I'm guessing so as I was not given the option of having one. I haven't even heard my little un's heartbeat. I have to wait until I am 12 weeks which, thankfully, is this week.

Snozberry - it's very hard to pick up a heartbeat so early. You can see it on the scan though but they didn't listen to it for me until 25 weeks (IIRC - 12 week scan, 16 week appt, 20 week scan, 25 week appt) although sometimes they do it at 16.

    Hi everybody

Sparkle - great news about your scan and seeing the heartbeat, how amazing!

Claire - sorry to hear you are being so sick :( Hope the guy in your office takes the hint about the aftershave - funnily enough the smell of DH's spray deodorant really sets me off! As for 8 week scans, you won't be offered one on the NHS unless you have a history of recurrent miscarriages (usually three in a row) or if there are any concerns like bleeding.

Fab lollies sound nice... I am really into icy drinks at the moment, especially grapefruit squash! In fact I was awake at about 4am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep until I'd come downstairs and made myself a grapefruit squash...weird!!

I have a scan date, hooray! 28 November, seems like forever away but I am so pleased to have a date in the diary now. It means I'll need to tell work before my scan which I didn't want to, as that date is going to be very difficult to take as holiday for various reasons.

I thought the sickness had eased but I was sick again yesterday and today, and been feeling very nauseous all day.

Snozberry and BigBird (and others!) - are your scans this week? Good luck to all those with scans this week :)
