Im finding Im really short of breath these days - has anyone else had this?
    QUOTE]

Yes! I was wondering whether it was my huge bloated (crisp-induced!) belly that was causing it!

Oh....and I have a confession....I had the most enormous portion of fish and chips tonight....although I did have a fruit salad afterwards as I felt so guilty! But my goodness was it good!:rotfl:

lovecake - I also have cream crackers in my drawer - although they are now going a bit soft and spongey!

Thanks for whoever recommended the bump bands - bought 2 off ebay as I wanted 2 black ones - instead of a black and white that Mothercare were offering. They are pretty good at holding my jeans together now that they are at least an inch away from doing up!:T

    Hello ladies,

Hope you are all doing ok. I am still queasy but haven't been sick since Sunday. Still very tired too.

We are the same in the bedroom dept. In the first couple of weeks we were normal, but once the nausea started, I just can't face it. Looking forward to the second trimester and getting back to business!

I finally have my appt :j It is on 5 December and I will have my scan the same day. I'm going to phone today and find out if the scan will be straight afterwards or if there will be a long wait. If so, I might just take the whole day off.

Hi everyone thought I would finally get round to posting on here!

I found out I was pregnant just over 2 weeks ago, but was on holiday, and since we got back a week ago Ive been recovering from a 10 hour time difference so major jet lag, and then just as that was going away Im a suffering from really bad tiredness so literally havent had the time/strength to post as been falling asleep about 8pm!

Touch wood I havent been sick yet but feeling really weird like bloated/hungry feeling. I kinda feel like if I dont eat Ill feel sick? Also keep getting up in the night to have to go to the toilet, and my stomach hurting.

Rang the docs yesterday and shes made an appt for me in 2 weeks time. My friend who lives in Devon said there she just filled in a form and they send a midwife to your house, but here it seems to be different. So not sure what will happen at the docs appt.

Everyone/thing I read seems to say that crackers or ready salted crisps are best to graze on to prevent you getting hungry and then the nausea starting so Im going to stock up on those today.

Had a few period pain type cramps in the night a couple of times too.

Hi Claire - great to see you here! Congratulations!

I agree that crackers and crisps are a good idea, eating little and often seems to help with the nausea for me.

Mogwai - I was thinking of going for a wax but not so sure after your post!!! I'll have to be brave at some point and get it done!

    Welcome Claire! And congrats!

Are people here taking vitamin D? I have been taking folic acid since we found out but nothing else. But my email from the NHS today says I should be taking 10micrograms of vitamin D a day as well....

I am. I'm on folic acid and a separate vitamin D tablet every morning. I checked this with my midwife and she said that it is ok.

As a side issue, I'm going through a major ice lolly addiction at the mo!

My midwife recommended vitamin D too. My folic acid tablets have vit D and something else in them. This must be a recent thing as it wasn't mentioned when I was pregnant with DS 2 1/2 years ago.

Welcome Claire. Hope everyone's having a good weekend :)

I didn't specifically take vitamin D and my midwife didn't mention it but I did read about the new recommendations and it sounds like a good idea, especially now that the sun isn't out much. I did make sure I got out into the sun as often as possible - I got pregnant in March - but then discovered that pregnancy makes you much more sensitive to the sun too!

First trimester really folic acid is more important due to the baby's development at the time. Vit D if I remember is needed all along and also while breastfeeding, although if you do manage to get some sun you shouldn't need supplementing (15 mins a day on face and arms is apparently enough) and if you decide to take a pregnancy multivitamin later on it probably contains vitamin D in any case.
