I have majorly cut down my caffeine too mrsj. I used to have about 5 cups of tea a day. Now I have one in the morning, one at about 3pm when I'm starting to feel really tired at work and then a decaf in the evening. The recommended limit is 200mg and there is about 75mg in a tea and about 40mg in a can of coke. So they way I work it out is that I could have 2 teas and a Cola if I fancied it and still be just under the limit, but I usually just stick to two teas and just have coke every now and again as a treat0

OH has booked our first scan appointment, just a little over 2 weeks away.
Not sure what to do with work to ensure I can go
1. Tell him I'm going docs again (I start at 8, scan at 10, and will easily take an 40-60 to drive to work from the hospital... And I finish at 4...h
2. Take day off - but it's on a Tues so might as well take Monday off but chews into my hol time
3. Just tell him about the situation!0 -
Thank goodness Im not the only one re BDing (though its not BDing anymore i guess!). Im really missing it though so hope things smooth out soon in that dept, ie I need to nap more and hopefully have less nausea
I have cut down from 3/4 cups of tea to none! or half a cup - I am drinking decaf tea now, and am only 'allowed' coke every few days by the caffeine nazi (DH)
On the plus side, I was feeling a little queasy earlier from hunger but didnt fancy anything I had in, so I tried some cream crackers and that really settled my queasiness...may keep some handy in future..We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Splank I don't think your legally entitled to any time off for antenatal appointments so I'd use your holidays as if you keep taking too many doctors appointments it might go against you in the future if/when you are genuinely ill.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

If I were you I would just explain the situation. My OH said to his boss that he would be in late because he was taking me to the docs and his boss guessed why anyway. OH didn't confirm or deny. Although you are not legally entitled to payed time off they might be inclined to be a bit more flexible if they know why.Thank goodness Im not the only one re BDing (though its not BDing anymore i guess!). I have cream crackers in my desk drawer! I munch them any time I feel sick and it really helps!0 -

Yeah just read the bit in my company handbook. Decided just to make it a long weekend instead!0 -
Ah well, that will be a nice wee break then! I think it just depends on how understanding your work are with these things. Luckily my OH's boss has just had a baby so I think he will be pretty good at letting him have the odd few hours here and there for scans etc. and he was just on paternity leave + 2 weeks holiday so was off for a month and OH picked up the slack so hopefully he will return the favour
So, so tired this afternoon!
Edit: OH's boss didn't have the baby - his girlfriend did! Haha!0 -
Thank you BigBird for the reply :-)
Am doing my best to try and eat better just not really hungry !! Thirsty a lot more than normal so am trying to drink lots more water and save my two cups of tea for one in the morn and one in the evening !!
Really hope all ok for you too this time... scary times eh x0 -
Hi mrsj nice to see you! Was wondering where you had gone. Well i had my first bout of sickness this morning, i had just had my breakfast and went upstairs to get showered but the cat had decided to leave a rather smelly present in his litter tray.lol so breakfast reappeared :-( i spent all day in work feeling like i had a hangover! Im laughing about it now.
I got my appt for clinic at hosp for 4weeks time and letter says i should get a scan that day, still taking this all one day at a time. Re dtd hubby made me ask the Dr last week if it was ok without harming the baby, i felt like a right tube!Mum of 2 :j0 -
lol minimuffin - my DH asked me this too soon after I got my BFP - he actually said, 'well I guess sex is off the cards for the next 9 months then' lol
havent been sick yet - hope that never happens. I read somewhere that if you havent had proper morning sickness by 2nd trimester that you likely won't get it later - fingers crossed! We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
