I've been taking foil acid and then vitamin b6 at night because I read on some US forums its recommended to stave off nausea and lots of women seem to be told to take it by their doc before they go to bed. I already had some from ttc and my friend said its supposed to be good for the baby blues after birth too!0

I've been taking one of the pregnancy multi vitamins since I found out ...when I was pregnant earlier in the summer at my booking in appointment midwife did a prescription for folic acid and vitamin but i never got round to taking it0

Hi guys well its my birthday today and I just threw up! I just knew it would start today! Strangely feel a bit better for it through. So having to make excuses to my friends that I haven't arranged anything cos I've got a cold. Dreading tomorrow I'm just gonna have to call in sick I can't face this at work. DH suggested I do that then after a couple of days if I have to tell my boss I will just say er it turns out I'm actually pg and suggest I do more work from home or something0

Aw happy birthday claire! how far along are you? ive heard that bland food and eating little and often helps stave off msickness, ive not had it yet (touch wood) but feeling nauseous now and again, and starting to go off my favourite foods (tea! sob)
mrsj - i could just about deal with the legs, but i had to tell her to stop and give it a 5 min break before she could finish my hollywood wax - OMG the pain! maybe also because I always used to take an ibuprofen before my wax but only took a couple of paracetomols this time..
ive been taking my wellwoman pregnacares, and the vit D in it is at the recommended level- saves me taking loads of supplements. We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Hey guys, how's everyone doing? I am 8 weeks yesterday!:-) Cannot wait to get to double figures! It feels kind of in-betweeny at this stage. I haven't been sick at all yet but my sense of smell is amazing! Bit of a hassle really cos I think most things stink! Flowers, beer, fried eggs have all been things I've gone 'uch' at but strangely I think our dog smells lush and keep sniffing him! Ha.
Been very up and down emotions-wise, crying and generally picking on OH :-(
Got first midwife app on thurs, scary!0 -
Hello. I had my first midwife appointment on Friday, and to be honest I was a little bit disappointed. She seemed like she was the no-nonsense sort and I didn't warm to her immediately, but I guess it's early days. I expected her to ask me how I was feeling, especially after my early miscarriage last time, but she kind of glossed over it as if it was just a factual event. She asked lots of questions to fill in the forms, one of which was whether I wanted a dating scan or the nuchal scan. It was clear from how she was describing it that she wasn't a fan of the nuchal scan as she kept asking me what I'd do if it came back with a high risk. She also said I couldn't then decide not to go ahead with the invasive tests if it was shown to be high risk, which I don't think is correct. To be honest it made me really doubt whether or not I should get a nuchal scan. Has anyone else decided what sort of scan they'll be having? It still seems really far off to me and I'm trying to focus one day at a time, but she said I need to let the department know asap if I change my mind. It's all so confusing!0

Hi everyone, I can't believe that I am now 10(3) - where have the weeks gone?! This weekend has pretty much been a right-off as I have felt as sick of a dog and ended up sleeping most of my precious time off away. I just keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it.
I had my flu jab on Friday and, for the first time ever, have reacted to it. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm usually pretty hardcore and don't suffer from side effects but my arm is swollen, tender and bruised. I have to keep it wrapped up as I don't want anyone thinking that I have been attacked!
I have my second midwives appointment this week and my scan the week after. I am sooo looking forward to having my scan.
Hello and welcome to all of the new people!0 -

I was disappointed with mine as well. The scans/tests were pretty much glossed over and, going off her responses/body language she wasn't a fan as well. Shame really as their job is to provide impartial advice and information.0 -
I wonder if it's because they have SO MUCH paperwork to get through, they don't have time? Mind you, a bit of niceness doesn't cost much does it.
If it's any consolation my MW appointment after the first one was much better! xBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0
