Im still considering going for an early scan, Im not totally exhausted like others are saying but i know everyone is different. I've been having the af type cramps but not constant, just every so often. Ill see how i feel next week when ill be 8 weeks and decide re scan. Where has mrsj gone?
I'm here
Hi ladies, haven't been posting much recently, but have been reading along. Had a busy week at work, am exhausted! Slept for ten hours last night (well, more like 11 if you count the hour I slept on the sofa) with just one trip to the loo in the night so feeling glad about that, but could have slept for about another five hours this morning!
BigBird I'm feeling similar to you - am somewhere between 8 and and 9 weeks and starting to relax a bit, desperate for a scan though and just want to know everything is ok. I keep nearly booking a private scan and then remembering my reasons for not doing that (in case something goes wrong between now and 12 weeks).
Still feeling very nauseous but haven't been sick yet. Boobs getting bigger too, and I'm permanently exhausted! I'm reassured by the symptoms but they are not much fun (well, DH would beg to differ, he is keen on the bigger boobs... shame I won't let him near them :rotfl:)
My diet is terrible at the moment, I have the taste buds of a child and just want to eat really plain stuff, although I am keen on fruit juice and smoothies so I'm hoping I'm getting a few of my five a day that way.0 -
Morning. Today is the first day when I had to rush to the bathroom as I thought I was going to be sick. Luckily I wasn't, but I've decided to not go into work today and just try and rest a bit. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling really hungry and didn't sleep properly after that, so I think I'm just a bit worn out. I'm also 8/9 weeks and am wishing for my scan date to come round quickly. I keep fluctuating from being really excited about being pregnant, to being really scared that something might be wrong. I guess that's normal though.
Is anyone else struggling to drink enough at the moment? I used to be able to drink lots of water, but I find it really difficult at the moment. It's weird as I seem to want to eat all the time, but my body just doesn't like fluids. I'm trying to eat healthily, but my body seems to want plain things, especially crisps or marmite on toast. I have a weird allergy to lots of fruit so I can't easily have 5 a day, but hopefully I'm getting enough vitamins from the combined folic acid tablets I'm taking.
I've got my first mid-wife appointment tomorrow which makes it all seem more real. I was expecting to have to go to the surgery for the appointment but it's going to be a home visit. I now feel like I've got to tidy the house so she doesn't think I'm a messy lazy slob, but I can't find the energy to start tidying the mess that's accumulated over the past few weeks!0 -

Hiya! Exactly the same symptoms for me - super tired, sore boobs, major nausea but no actual sickness yet and craving bland food.
Has anyone had an appointment for their scan yet? I was just wondering how long it takes between first going to the GP and getting a date. I just really want to know if I am going to get one before Christmas! If they leave it til after I will be over 13 weeks as I will be 13 weeks on boxing day so I'm hoping that means they will do it before! I'll be 12 weeks on the 19th of December so fingers crossed!
My OH is getting really impatient to and keeps asking me when they will do it and when we will find out when the appointment is etc. He is desperate to tell his mum! I kind of want to tell people too as it would make it easier on me as I am really struggling with the nausea and tiredness, but can't explain to people why I am feeling unwell so just have to make excuses not to go out. Although at the same time I am kind of enjoying it just being our secret!
Hope everyone has a good Thursday! Roll on the weekend when I can have a lie in!!0 -
lovecake, i got the scan letter 2 weeks after my GP appt..booked for end of nov though Ive already had 2 scans now..
Im finding Im really short of breath these days - has anyone else had this?
Emily B Im having enough to drink but finding it hard to want to eat veggies and fruit - I really need to rethink my diet. Just did a big online tescos shop and forced myself to buy some fruit and some veg so hopefully will eat those..
Also, how is everyones sex lives faring?? :rotfl:
im so tired all the time, and feeling slightly nauseous most of the time so havent been up for it. While ttcing I was really looking forward to getting back to 'for fun' BDing but I havent much felt like it since getting my BFPIs it just me or do others feel like this? I really hope this doesnt continue - maybe we just need to shift BDing to earlier on in the day as I am out like a light come bedtime!
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Thanks for the info on the scan appointment!
I am the same sex life wise. We haven't DTD at all since I got my BFP. Just haven't felt like it and been way too tired. I think we'll need to try and do it earlier on in the evening or daytime on the weekends. I'm out like a light at night too!0 -
And another one who hasn't DTD in weeks! We did a couple of times after I got my BFP, and it was so nice not having the pressure of it being 'the right time' but since my nausea kicked in at 6 weeks I am not even remotely interested, poor DH is being very patient with me, but as long as I'm feeling so queasy and exhausted there's no chance! I'm hoping I'll feel better at some point and will make an extra effort then!!0

We've managed to DTD once since my BFP
I'm usually out like a light once I get in bed, and mornings are no good as DS is usually shouting for attention at 6:30 - 7ish.
Booking scans seems to vary around the country. My MW called the hospital and booked mine whilst I was at my first appointment with her. I should be bang on 12 weeks when I have mine. But even the MW thing seems different where I am as I didn't need to see my GP, just booked an appointment with the MW. Have you seen anyone yet, lovecake? Hopefully they'll fill you in on how the procedure works. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Thanks for the info! I have seen my GP. I couldn't go straight to the midwife - partly because I wanted to see my GP anyway and partly because I didn't know who or where my local midwife team were and partly because I had to make the appointment in work and they close the surgery phones at lunch time so had to make the call in front of colleagues. We are a small team and used to hearing each other make doctors and dentist appointments and we all put them in the group diary anyway, but I think if they had overheard me making a midwife appointment my cover would have been blown! Hehe! I also wanted to get my flu jab asap as I had terrible flu 2 years ago so GP gave it to me there and then. Sore arm today!
The GP referred me to the local midwife team and told me where they are and asked me to pick a hospital. She said they would be in touch. She said I would have midwife appointments at the local centre where they are based and scans at the hospital I chose. Just can't wait to get the ball rolling!0 -
The systems really do vary, don't they? Where I am you have to have a GP appointment first, but weirdly the GP doesn't refer you to the midwife, you have to book the midwife appointment at the GP reception after your GP appointment! I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife next week, and then apparently she will refer me for my scan at the hospital. I want to get the date asap so I can book the day off work without raising too much suspicion. I'm planning to tell work I'm pregnant once I've had the scan and know if all is ok.
I am finding that Coke with lots of ice in it makes me feel better, but am really trying to avoid having to much caffeine, so only in small doses! Have gone right off tea and coffee so the only caffeine I'm really getting is from a small glass of coke which I think is below the recommended maximum amount.0
