  • I was freezing lastnight, hot water bottle, fleecy pjs and a blanket over the quilt! But then must have got hot in the night and stripped! Keep waking up every day thnking it's going to be the day my morning sickness starts but ok so far.. I just know it's hanging on til I'm on my course next week, or even better-til the day of my exams!
There was no mention of a flu jab at the GP app, maybe midwife will mention it when I hear off her.

My GP didn't offer it - I had to ask, and then she said "oh yes...I nearly forgot" - so worth just booking yourself one with a nurse at your surgery.
  • Hi all

Quick Question - did anyone take thier OH's to the first appointment at the midwives? My oh is happy to come along but reading the posts if its just to complete forms i wonder if he should bother? x
  • My first appointment with the midwife is at home and luckily OH has the day off too so we'll be here together but he can dip out if not needed.

I'm freezing, have spent the day outside in the rain so tea and blanket for the afternoon is on the cards...and a nap of course!

tea: first appointment is not worth it unless it's the scan at the same time. Mine's come to the two scans but not to the others, although from 16 weeks (if you're lucky) you might get to hear the heartbeat (I wasn't listened to until 25 weeks) and he might enjoy that. The rest of my appointments have tbh just been blood pressure / blood taken / urine test / later on bump measurement and of course if you have any questions or things. First appointment was just lots of paperwork really! You might need some of OH's medical history though if you don't know it already.

No - I left him at home - he would have come if I asked him though. He is only going to come to the scans - not any of the midwife appointments. He would just have felt like a loose article as it was just mainly focused on me which would have bored him haha!!! (only a little bit about his medical history - which I knew anyway).:)

Hi ladies! I am feeling super sick and nauseous today and really, really tired. Took the day off work as I have been feeling dizzy and been dry retching all day! :( Didn't think it would start this early, but it might just be a one off bad day. Hope so! Looking forward to my GP appointment one week today! I have a few questions so I think I might write them down so I remember! :)
  • Try some ginger biscuits lovecake, they have been my saviour today. I seem to be worse for tired/nausea in the afternoon at the moment.

I've managed to get my flu jab booked in for tomorrow - so that's another worry off my mind!

I too am feeling very tired and nauseous. I've found that if I keep snacking the nausea stays at bay. I am eating constantly at my desk now though, I wonder if anyone in the office has an inkling!?

I still haven't had my appointment for the midwife. The hospital does say that they aim to contact you within 2 weeks of receiving the referral. My GP appt was 2 weeks ago today so if I don't hear by the end of the week I will phone. How quickly did other people get their appointments?

Hope you are all as well as can be.
