Get there at 8:45 and scope out if you need a wee sample - depending on where you are they might give you a pot beforehand so your OH can fill it up before the appointment rather than having to nip to the loo midway. My hospital based appointments all did this.

Good on you SplanK! Mine is bored of me being pregnant already so hence I didn't take (invite!) him to the first midwife appt!!!! (I am playing on it a bit though in true female style which is prob why he is getting bored!!!!:D)

Drinkupretty - congratulations! Enjoy your choc! People on here are really supportive - I knew nothing about pregnancy before arriving here!

Sparkles87 - hope you and bean are ok x

Hi everyone, went to the dr who sent me to EPU as a precaution as there was possibility of ectopic, due to bleeding and pain.

Thankfully everything is fine and little bean is 4-5 weeks so I'm having another scan in two weeks so she can hear the heartbeat for definite but everything is a good size and in the right place :D

It's so nice to be told you're officially early pregnant too!

Yay Sparkles!! :) That is great news! :) x
  • Nice one sparkles :-) good news! x
Anyone else being a bit emotional? I have been ok and quite rational but today I am a bit sensitive and have exploded at my OH over something as petty as dog-walking. then burst into tears and got into bed! oops :-(
  • Well deffo pregnant 2nd test was also positive. Phoned my surgery, receptionist said I don't see the doctor I fill in the form and the midwife comes to my house to see me. I have not even fully decided if I am going to keep it yet, so sounds a bit odd, is the receptionist correct? OH is shut in his study sulking at the moment :(

Think it's different around the country, I didn't tell the surgery why I wanted an app so just saw a doc quickly and then she passes details over to a midwife who will contact. There was no discussion about whether I wanted to keep it or not-apart from when she asked me if it was 'good' news. I wouldnt have thought a midwife would discuss terminations- i may wrong though- but i would have thought that decision should be made before seeing her? Sorry this isn't a happy time for you guys, is your situation really not right for a baby or had you just never planned kids?

If I were you I would go to a local family planning centre if you have one near you. They are very helpful and should be able to give you more information on your options. I wouldn't wait until the midwife comes to see you as she might not be able to provide you with the right kind of information for making this decision and also I wouldn't want to wait that long. There are time limits for the different types of terminations - e.g. if you decided you didn't want to keep the baby you might want the option of having an early medical termination where you don't need surgery. They give you pills in the hospital to take and in some places you can even go home while it happens and just phone in to the hospital to let them know how you are getting on. This option is only available up to 9 weeks as far as I'm aware so as I said, I wouldn't wait until the midwife comes to see you.

It's a hard decision - if you need to talk about it, you know we are all here.

I took another digi this morning just to see if it had changed from 'pregnant 1-2' to 'pregnant 2-3' and it had! Haha! Don't know why I wanted to but I just kinda wanted to see that it was progressing seen as I will have to wait ages for a scan! Lol! Is that strange or has anyone else taken more tests since getting their positive?

Happy Friday everyone - hope everyone has a good day! :)

    Morning ladies

Sparkles - so glad everything ok, it's horrible when you worry it's not.

Niknok - yay for all being ok at your scan!

SplanK - I'll be interested to hear how you get on at your OH's midwife appointment. My husband wants to come along to mine but I'm worried he'll be really bored!

lovecake - doing more tests is normal, I think.. I've done [STRIKE]about thirteen[/STRIKE] a few since I found out I was pregnant!

Hope everybody is doing ok. I'm feeling pretty rough with the nausea and tiredness but glad to be having symptoms and hoping it means all is going well. Still feeling very anxious about it and worrying things will go wrong, but at the same time starting to get a bit excited. Desperate for my 12 week scan and for everything to be ok!

I can't remember if I mentioned that I bought a bump band and it's amazing! I can wear my jeans undone which is so much more comfortable and nobody is any the wiser :)
