  • Morning all,

i did that lovecake about 2 weeks ago but I've ran out of digis. I did an ic yesterday and the line was the same as control line, it went dark in 5secs. I've felt a bit sick this past 2 mornings but find if i eat then it subsides a bit. Im trying not to think too much about being pg, so frightened :-( how far are you now mrsj? How do the bump bands work?x
    Mum of 2 :j
  • Thanks for all the lovely kind words ladies (and gents). OH came down to watch Red Dwarf last night and seem to have cheered up a bit, and was in a better mood today. He said we should talk about it properly tonight/ this weekend. When ever I think I have settled on a decision, I change my mind again. Stupid brain. Apart from that feeling ok today, and craving dairylea triangles!

minimuffin - in NHS weeks I'm 8 +5, but in my own weeks (I used ovulation tests) I'm 7 +4/5, but really I don't know so just waiting until I have a scan to get dated!

Bump bands - these are the ones I bought:

    http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Maternity-Bump-Bands--2-Pack/LK2628,default,pd.html?cm_sp=ProductFeatures-_-Category%2520landing-_-Mothercare%2520Maternity%2520Bump%2520Bands-%25202%2520Pack

Basically you just put them over your undone trousers and they hold them up, and it just looks a bit like you are wearing a long vest under whatever you're wearing, or you can wear under long tops so nobody sees anything. I've found it really helpful as I'm getting so badly bloated I can't do my trousers up at all by the end of the day!

    Hows everyone?

Im doing away nicely and cant believe that tomorrow i will be 8 weeks!! im getting a podgy round the tummy. I am quite thin so this makes it more noticable to me. - others around me however will just think im eating to many cupcakes:rotfl:

Anyone else being a bit emotional? I have been ok and quite rational but today I am a bit sensitive and have exploded at my OH over something as petty as dog-walking. then burst into tears and got into bed! oops :-(

Yes - I was on floods of tears last night for about an hour! Kept doubting whether things would be ok etc etc...

Thanks for info on bump band mrsj28 - I am going to buy a pack - my jeans are just so tight - it looks as though I have a pokey tummy at the moment with my buttons undone! (then the jeans start falling down as I walk!!!).

Good news for me today - should complete on a house purchase on Friday - saw the solicitor today to sign paperwork! Woohoo!:T

    Happy weekend people!:T

Drinkup, if it helps, my OH looked utterly horrified when I told him I was pregnant, in spite of it being planned. He needed a couple of days to let reality sink in and now he is childishly excited about the whole thing. It did feel like he'd p***ed on my chips a bit though, as it wasn't the response I was hoping for!

I hope you can sort something out xx

Exactly. One of the first things that my OH said was that we couldn't go on our exotic holiday next year! He looked quite fed up when he said it!
  • Eeek I have just had a call off my midwife making my first appointment!! scary. It makes it seem all real and grown up! lol. Plus she sounded a bit posh and serious.
Thanks Ihatedida, glad it's not just me! Good news on the house :-) We live in a small 1 bedroom flat as we can't sell our business which is joined on so that's part of my worry-the space!Going to start a major declutter after i've hit 12 weeks.

Had my first midwife appointment this morning so it's all starting to feel scarily real now! And I have my scan date - 27 November.

Apparently I'll be tested for gestational diabetes this time as my Dad has type 2 diabetes and DS was 9lb 4oz - she thinks his size may have been due to undiagnosed GD, so they'll check this time. Or I might just make big babies, seeing as I'm a big girl. I'm not looking forward to having to squeeze another one that size out though :o

My jeans still fit OK, but I'm going to have to send DH up into the loft for my old maternity gear soon as I need my bigger bras!

Yay for the new house, IHateDida, I hope the move goes smoothly.

Hope your chat with your OH goes well Drinkup, and you can reach a decision you're both happy with. Having a baby is a massive change and a very daunting prospect even when it's planned.
You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.
  • Glad that everything is progressing well BB, and exciting news that you have your scan date :)
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..
