tea - the only thing I can say is that it will pass :) Hope your other half is supportive, I think mine thought I was putting on a little, it helped when a mutual friend mentioned her doctor had said it was 'as strong as horse tranquilizer' :D

Oh that is good to know! I will tell OH as I think he may think I'm exaggerating too! :rotfl:
  • Hi ladies, had my gp appt earlier, went ok, wasn't terribly exciting. Got the flu jab. She sent off a letter for a scan date so just a waiting game. I keep waking up in the mornings with really sore b00bs and am having the most bizarre dreams. Dreamt about Alex Reid last night.lol

Gp gave me a book called emmas diary, did anyone else get one? It makes for a good read.

Yeah, it is a bit odd for others around as you look normal but are passed out on the sofa :)

Minimuffin, I've not done it but I know others have signed up to Emma's Diary online, do NOT give them your phone number as you'll get all sorts of calls, set up with as much fake data as you can get away with!

Hi, i hope you ladies don't mind me butting in. My daughter is 10 -11 weeks pregnant and is a little bit worried as her midwife has told her to have the flu jab, but the gp has refused to give it to her until she's 28 weeks is this the usual practice?????????
Also she has developed dandruff, and after googling this seems quite common, but there doesn't seem to be any remedies mentioned to aleviate this, and this is getting her down.

red-boxer, I think the flu jab is to keep her healthy, I don't think there's any risk to the baby particularly should she get flu (as opposed to whooping cough where it's for baby's benefit). There might be a case to say not to give it to people in first and second trimester though, I don't know - I've had mine but I'm 36 weeks now (and had the whooping cough at the same time).

red-boxer, the flu jab she can have at any point as savage said because it is for her benefit, so the sooner she has it the better really. The whooping cough jab she can only have much later in pregnancy as it is for baby, not for her. So likely a misunderstanding; can she ring her mw to help clear it up and get her flu jab arranged?

Hi - thanks for all the replies about Pregnacare and nausea - I might try and find a replacement - I might just take folic acid on its own and see what happens - just a bit worried that my diet (I don't eat meat) might mean I don't get enough iron.

I had my first appt with a midwife today - OMG! the paperwork! I was in there half an hour filling in paperwork. I did get my first Bounty pack - at 8 weeks, having to walk out with a huge plastic pack with "Pregnancy Information Pack" in rather large lettering was rather embarrassing!. So I hid it (rather unsuccessfully!) under my coat as I walked past several waiting rooms! Just a warning - unless you want the whole surgery to know - take a bag to disguise the first Bounty pack!!!!

Red-boxer - I have my flu jab booked this Friday - recommended asap by my GP. I think the sooner your daughter can have it the better.

Thank-you so much in posting this. I have my appointment with the midwife next Tuesday and I will have to take a bag with me because I am not running the risk of bumping into someone I know.

Did you take a urine sample with you? I have to take one with me you see. I just want a medical professional to tell me that I am preggers. I did another test today (despite having lots of symptoms lol)
