Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! 2

Yeah Its my first dippy and 1st pregnancy, i looked up a local clinic here and it costs 100quid for a scan after 7 weeks, bit extortionate! I had thought of it for peace of mind but as ihatedida says things can go wrong before the 12 weeks.
We are saving too, we have booked to go to new York for Feb, before i knew i was pg, so if things dont work out then ill buy myself an expensive handbag there or something!Mum of 2 :j0 -
mini, I wouldn't go for a private scan unless you had good reason to; it's very easy to get yourself worried about everything and anything when pregnant. The wait between 12 and 20 week scans is actually the worst (or was for me) as then I had lost all my symptoms aside from the bump and couldn't feel baby move yet so didn't feel pregnant!
I haven't had any cramps at all this pregnancy, but I know others do, it's usually just things stretching and so on. I had practically no symptoms early on aside from the sore boobs, then later the morning sickness and incredible tiredness kicked in.0 -

Oh that's not nice! How far along are you? My Mum seemed to think I may not get morning sickness if I haven't had it yet-at 6 weeks(according to online calculator thingy) not sure if she's just being nice though! When should I go to my GP? Asap?[/QUOTE]
I'm only 5+4 but I have IBS anyway so a pretty weak stomach!
Yes contact your GP, in my area your midwife sees you between 8-10 weeks0 -
hello everyone. after our initial joy of finding out that OH is pregnant (which was only few weeks ago but seems like ages ago!) we got the shock of our life. went for an early US scan (standard with IVF treatment i think) and found that we are having identical twins! the embryo split in two! we are so over the moon but at the same time quite scared really as to how will we cope with it! we were able to listen to two heart beats so it was ok. have read lots of info online about complications with multiple birth pregnancies. Saw GP who said next scan in 5/6 weeks, so fingers crossed until then i guess!
OH is having evening sickness (????) which seems to be driven by exhaustion at the end of the day. if its this bad right now, god knows what will happen after 2/3 months!0 -
Good morning everyone ,
Just popping my head into this thread. AF was due Sat/Sun and didn't arrive. Got a BFP Saturday on a digi saying 'pregnant 1-2' so it's very early on for me. I'm 29 and this is my first pregnancy. I am a mixture of over the moon and scared at the moment!
Just a quick question - when did you all make appointments to go to the GP? I was thinking I should just go straight away... (I have A- blood type so I wanted to find out a bit more about the whole rhesus negative thing and Anti-D injection etc.) Does anyone else have A- blood and know a bit more about it?
Hope everyone has a good Monday!0 -
Hi lovecake, many Congrats! Im off to see my gp tomorrow Will be 5+6. Bit scared as still no major symptoms. Im pretty clueless about all this so can't help re the anti d injection.
Congrats xyz! My cousin had ivf and had twins, she had to have an emergency section at 33 weeks cos one was taking more of the nutrients. Her twins are now 3 and thriving. Im sure your oh Will be closely monitored.xMum of 2 :j0 -
Thanks minimuffin! I think A- is quite rare so there might not be anyone on the thread who has experience with this. I think I'll just go to GP early to be on the safe side.0

Welcome to xyz123 and lovecake, and congratulations!
minimuffin - I was worried about having no symptoms, but the nausea kicked in at almost 6 weeks exactly!
Finding work quite tough today, just very difficult to concentrate with the nausea. Fresh ginger in hot water seems to be helping a bit!
Has anybody had any luck with using sea sickness wrist bands? I've just ordered a pair from Amazon in the hope that they might keep the nausea at bay, but I've heard mixed things about them.
I bought a bump band at the weekend as I've been so uncomfortable in my jeans because of all the bloating - I'm really pleased with it and it means I don't have to do up my trousers!! Got a pack of two from Mothercare for £10. Felt very surreal going into Mothercare though, felt like I shouldn't be in there really!
Hope everybody is having a nice day0 -
Thanks mrsj, am doing my best to stay away from Google. I've been having af type pains the odd time, what a rollercoaster this is. Will chat to my gp tomorrow and see. Im 6 weeks on wed so hopefully more symptoms follow!Mum of 2 :j0

minimuffin - I had AF type pains on and off for the first couple of weeks, seems to have settled down now. It's a funny situation where you really want the symptoms, but then the symptoms appear and you really want them to go away... but then you don't because you'd be worried if they did.... Rollercoaster indeed! I'd love to not feel nauseous for a day, but to be honest I'd probably be so anxious if I didn't it wouldn't be worth it!!
Staying away from Google is sensible. I've restricted myself to the NHS website only for advice for now!0
