I have a feeling that the Pregnacare that I am taking might be making my nausea worse? I read about iron having an effect?? Anyone else know anything about iron - can I stop taking it? I don't eat meat so maybe I need iron in a supplement?? 1st appointment with midwife tomorrow so I might ask her.0

I've told 2 very close friends (both sworn to secrecy!). Not telling anyone else until nuchal or whatever it is scan/test. Then we are only going to tell a few close family members. I will tell work when I can no longer hide it (and to fit in with schedule for maternity pay!).

I am also secretly hoping nausea means a girl......!!! Although of course I know it can all still go very wrong....
Pregnacare makes me queasy if I take it on an empty stomach, so I started taking it at bedtime instead. On the box it says to take with your main meal, so I guess it's a common problem. I switched back to the sanatogen ones and have no problem with them. HTHxx

I'm six weeks on Wednesday too
I love the little pulls and aches, not liking the nipples being so sore but guess I'll have to get used to that as hoping to BF.
Bloat is finally disappearing too, I miss it but OH said a real bump will be here before we know it!0 -
Hey everyone, uch been busy working. Doesn't feel right going to work when I know what's in my tummy!lol.
Congrats to xyz-twins. eeek how exciting and lovecake :-)
I still have had no nausea or any other symptoms apart from still sore boobs, and they are popping out of my bra a bit! Must buy some new ones I guess!
Seeing my GP tomoro, bit nervous. I have smoked about 10 a day through my 20s and now am 31. I had my last cig the day before i did the pregnancy tests last week and not had one since. But I was smoking the first few weeks of my pregnancy as I was totally unaware :-(
Does anyone know does my age and the fact I have smoked make me high risk?
Have told our parents and siblings, I see my Mam alot and could not keep this from her! Also I figured we should tell people we would turn to if something went wrong so will probably tell my best mate.0 -
Dippy, Lots and lots of people have smoked (and drunk alcohol) in very early pregnancy without realising and gone on to have normal, healthy babies, so it is very unlikely that your smoking will have affected your baby. What's really important is that you've stopped now, so please try not to worry0
-
dippy, I think now that you've stopped it should all be OK. Discuss it with your midwife anyway, but I think the most damage from smoking happens if you carry on when the placenta is growing (comments from midwives about smoking and pregnancy have usually been that the placenta comes out looking gross and unhealthy) - early on that's not so much the case. Well done on giving up though! Also remember that the first two weeks of your 'pregnancy' you're not actually pregnant, it's that counting from last period thing, so you probably smoked less while pregnant than you think. I was totally unaware that I was pregnant too and we were out at two parties - never smoked but did have more wine than usual....
Your age isn't a problem, I think 'advanced maternal age' or whatever they call it starts at about 35 (and even then it's not normally too much of a problem!). I'm 30 now and no mention of high risk due to age.0 -

I was also told if I have any trauma to my abdomen or bleeding I have to have the jab. (I'm 25 weeks so not had the jab yet - just waiting for an appointment)
Hope you are all managing the sickness/tiredness ok.

Thank you! That's really helpfulI will know what to expect now.
Hope everyone is feeling good today!0 -

I'm 8.5 and in the same boat as you. I have a nap when I return home from work and go to bed early. I'm still drained all of the time though! Let's just see it as practice for when our little ones arrive!0 -
