  • Good luck for tomorrow binkyboo, hope its a wonderful thing for you :)
  • Hi everyone,

This is my first post, but I've been lurking around these boards for a while now.

After a silent miscarriage in July ( I found out at my 12 week scan the baby had stopped developing around 5/6weeks) and an erpc, I find myself 6 weeks pregnant again.

It's not feeling very real yet, I'm terrified I will let myself believe it will be ok and be heartbroken again.

I really want to ask for an early scan, do you think my GP would refer me for an 8 week scan to put my mind at rest a little?

  • Hello any name, so sorry to hear about your loss but massive congratulations on your new pregnancy. I think its always worth asking your gp but alot of times you can only get one after several miscarriages in a row. You could always go to a private scanning clinic (baby bond etc) if there's one near you? Prices very depending where you are but could be worth it for some reassurance.
There are quite a few ladies on here pregnant after previous losses (myself included ) so you're definitely not alone x
  • Thanks lemonmelon, I'm planning on making a gp appointment this week to ask about it. like last time I've had quite a lot of discomfort, period like pains and a sharp pain when i cough or sneeze just inside my hip bone. I'm hoping that's all quite normal.
I'm not feeling very pregnant yet, i think I'm just impatient and think when i start having sore boobs, nausea etc it will feel a bit more real.

  • Forgot to say, congratulations on your pregnancy too!
  • lizzie_b, I'm afraid it's just a waiting game, but do chat with your GP. Sounds like it should be ok to me though.x
Any name. Congrats and good luck, this time fingers crossed will be the one :o)
Binkyboo - can't believe your scan date is here, excited for you.x
Tinks-Not long until a bit of reassurance hopefully.x

Back to work tomorrow, here's hoping I'm not too tired after a full day!

    Hi

    Congrats :T

I had an MMC and then fell PG again like u the baby had passed at 6 weeks & we paid for a private scan at 9 weeks as I knew something was wrong. The baby had passed away & I had an ERPC. I fell PG again and the NHS would not let me have an early scan even though I was under the hospital counsellor for the MMC. :( We once again paid for our own private scan & went onto have DD2. Last august I had another MC :(. I am now 7w4 and still not allowed an early scan after 2 mc's :(, We are booked in for a private scan tomorrow. I can't think of myself as being PG until I see a heartbeat. Easier to thing that things aren't right then to accept that things will be ok this time. :(
Please speak with your GP/MW. All health authorties are different.
If you can think it........it will happen

Morning ladies, hope you’ve all had a fab weekend! I didn’t do a fat lot to be honest – went out with some friends on Saturday afternoon for a couple of drinks (well, they had a couple of drinks – I used the excuse of me not drinking was because I was going out that evening!) luckily I have told a couple of my closest friends so they didn’t bat an eyelid at me not enjoying my usual tipple!

Yesterday I had a really, really lazy day and after getting up and showering I put on my favourite fluffy pj’s and sat watching telly all day! The only times I moved was to the kitchen for food/drink or to go to the toilet (which seems to be every 10 minutes – Im seriously thinking of getting a catheter fitted!!)
  • Newcook wait until you are later on... I feel like I need to wee constantly and I really mean constantly. when I go its just a thimble full too so I wish I just had a nappy on...

I've been pretty lucky with needing to wee thankfully - I think baby is lying at a slight angle so my bladder is largely unscathed. Every now and again if it moves position though I get the preganant woman bladder so I do feel your pain!
