I have a doppler and love it. Have already found the heartbeat a couple of times this pregnancy and I am only 9+5, found it for the first time at 8+1 which I know is very early. I think I had enough practise with my first pregnancy using it, that now I know whereabouts to look and how to do it without tok much hassle.
I do agree though that it isn't the right thing for everyone. Especially as for some ladies it just sends them into a worry and panic which is no good for you or baby. So I think it all comes down to the person, to whether its a good idea to get one or not.

Hi everyone!

Good news from me, I have been signed off work, initially for one week but doc will happily extend it if needed! Had a phone appt with my normal doc and he was great! Feel so much better now I know the doc is on my side! Now I can concentrate on getting better instead of stressing out! Thanks to all who have given me advice.

Anyway 2b don't want to encourage you (lol) but groupon have a deal for a Doppler type thingy on today for £10 ish, might be worth a look . And if you fancy any ms or any other symptoms I'm more than happy to share

Chororla thanks for the info, my issue is I don't have hg, I'm nauseous ALL the time but I'm rarely sick at the moment (touch wood) so I think the doc just gave me that to shut me up!

Hi all how are you doing?

Sequeena - I am so sorry to read your news, I hope you and OH are as well as can be.

I am 7+5 now my scan is on the 14th September (thanks 2b) which seems a lifetime away.

Morning sickness is horrible and tiredness is well tiring but feeling ok apart from that! xx

Dopplers - can be nice - can be terrible if you can't find the heartbeat. I worried LOTS last pregnancy (previous miscarriages... then of course she came prematurely via an incubator in NICU and a hospital stay) - despite having weekly scans for the first trimester the worry never really went away and I did buy a doppler.

It was about 80% reassurance 20% inducing me to panic depending on where she was hiding - there were days I couldn't pick up a heartbeat at all - and to be honest I used it more to wind her up and wake her up and provoke her into moving than to actually monitor her heartbeat.

Hi Ladies.

Excuse the absence I have been rather poorly and not up to posting.

I had my final EPU scan today and not only saw my healthy wriggly beany but got put forward to 11+6 so 12 weeks tomorrow! I lost nearly a whole week

I still have my official dating scan next week which is handy as I wasn't expected to be so far forward so get another peak at the bean xxx

Thanks for adding me to the list 2b. Im getting period like pains, not too bad but now and again throughout the day. Is this normal? Ive had no spotting or anything like that.

Havent had any sickness which im grateful for but would probably make it a bit more 'real' if i did. Shouldnt complain really!

Me and OH watch the midwives programme on bbc2 last night and we both ended up sobbing at the end as it has really dawned on us that we will be having a little baby in 7 months! How exciting!

Although I have a close friend in work who is 16 weeks at the moment, its really nice to be able to come on here and compare notes/chat to other ladies who are around the same amount of weeks as me.
