Congrats on the good scan zcrat41! :j:j I think I will be bursting to tell the news as soon as mine is done. Although scan date is 5 days before the wedding and we want to keep it quiet until after the wedding, so I am going to have to zip my mouth up (and reaaaaally hope that all is ok :eek:). If the dates are right I'll be 13 weeks on wedding day

How old are you? If you're less than 30 (maybe even less than 35), the scan was good & the nuchal fold thing small, and you're past 12 weeks then I think you're onto a winner and I wouldn't worry about telling people too much :j:j

I'm 31 (will be 32 2 weeks after baby is born!)

That's my kind of thinking too.

Just said to my Dad after showing him the scan pics that I'm looking forwards to telling people and he said "oh, I'd a wait a few more weeks if I were you otherwise it'll be a long 6 months" Excuse me Dad, it'll be a long 6 months whatever!!

zcrat, congrats on the scan - that's fab news! I still haven't told too many people and am 13+4 - had scan 3 weeks ago! We're due for the quad test in august and wondering if I can hide it til then. I can see both yours and your DHs POV. We have told parents, siblings and a few close friends, some of whom know about our past mcs and some who don't. Haven't told work as yet. everytime I think I'll tell them, I chicken out! I have no idea why. Possibly something to do with having to actually say the words "I'm pregnant". Makes me feel like I've been very naughty! and I'm 37! Whatever you choose make sure you both agree! Nothing worse than one of you doing something the other doesn't approve of!

Thanks Nephthys. I told my brother and DH has told his sister. She was thrilled and I think her reaction has buoyed him up a bit iykwim. I think we'll slowly tell good friends (godparent contestant type friends!) and family. Then as we get more comfortable and I get bigger we'll go proper public!

Hi, Hope everyone is well, had my scan today and everything is fine BUT i have to go back in two weeks for my downs test as im only 10 weeks and 1 day. I listened to the heartbeat tho and got a photo too

Congrats everyone on your lovely scans, I am wishing my life away til Thursday for my first one, but also to the 12 week mark, thats when they think things are safer, right?

A friend of mine who is 2.5 weeks ahead of me had her scan today, twins! What a lovely blessing!

Hope everyone is coping OK in the heat, I am suffering a bit!

We stupidly decided to move some wardrobes today - well my mum and DW did (I am v. grateful!), some free ones my Nana is giving to us as she is moving out of her house - she's lived there for 60 years! Its going to be a very emotional move for her next week, bless her.

Mine is 4 weeks today!!!!!!!! I hope it goes fast.

I'm also suffering in the heat, morning sickness plus 32 degree heat is not a winner. My hubby has had an awful day and I am hoping to cook him risotto for tea as its his favourite. Sea bands on and just waiting for him to get back with stock cubes!!
