Ohhh and I treated myself to a little reflexology - although it was more like a gentle foot and leg massage! Feeling very sleepy now though and ready for my bed, not an afternoon at work!!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0

Oooh, just got scan date of 9th august and I need to see the midwife straight after for bloods, etc.
I've also got my maternity excemption card thingIt all feels all the more real now (as if the previous scan didn't convince me it was really happening
)
I was a bit naughty earlier and bought some little vests. They were v. cute though. Oh and some scratch mits and muslins...0 -

Does no-ones midwife come to their home for the first appointment then? They do in my area. With T I had it at 6 weeks. We filled in the maternity book that you carry everywhere. It has yours and your partners family history, information on scans, bloods etc, a section for your midwife and/or consultant or any other medical professional to fill each time you have an appointment (blood pressure, gestation, urine results, what was discussed at the appointment) then at the back are a few blank pages if you wish to write a birth plan.
My first scan with T I was 11+2 by lmp but they put me back to 10+6. I did a sample of urine at every appointment. After my first scan I was also weighed, had bloods done, blood pressure, spoke to one of the midwives (she gives you extra info on whatever) and I think that was it.
For anyone interested my appointments were 6 weeks, 10 weeks (scan), 12 weeks, 15 weeks emergency scan, 17 weeks scan, 18 weeks scan at fetal medicine (gender confirmed), 19 weeks scan, 20 weeks anomaly scan at fetal medicine, 24 weeks scan and consultant, 25 weeks midwife, 28 weeks scan and consultant, 28 weeks midwife, 30 weeks midwife, 32 weeks scan and consultant, 33 weeks scan and consultant, 34 weeks scan and consultant, 34 weeks midwife, 36 weeks scan and consultant, 36 weeks midwife, 38 weeks consultant, 38 weeks midwife, 40 weeks midwife.
I had a complicated pregnancy. Usually you're seen between 10 and 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 2 weekly midwife apps from 28 weeks onwards.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Squeena, my community midwife called today and is coming to the house on friday (I'm 10 weeks on Saturday) but I've already had my first antenatal appt with the GP, as that's the arrangement at our surgery.
After the scan, I'll see the hospital midwife for bloods, etc.
I think it works differently in different areas, as my friend's experience
was quite different from what's been offered to me
Thanks for sharing, I find it really useful hearing about others experiences0 -
I went to my gp first too who said he didn't deal with ante natal stuff. Fair enough, 1 less medical professional for me to see :rotfl:Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Hi to all the newbies!
I saw midwife at gp surgery at 7 weeks (although I got an appt without telling them how far I was so I think this would have occurred whenever I called). Now had letters from hospital for an app to "book in" at 11 weeks (with a huge med history form to complete in advance) and then a scan app at 12 weeks.0 -
First scan tomorrow morning, feeling incredibly nervous, especially since my boobs stopped hurting today and I've been feeling symptomless.Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0
