So confusing!!!!!

So - they saw a heartbeat!

But, they have put me back a week at 5+1 - which as we did AI and only once, we kind of know the dates, so am confused as we had it at 6+1. Has this happened to anyone else?

The gest Sac is measuring 19.3mm, but the CRL is only 2.4mm - so am worried about that a bit

The nurse who assessed us was absolutely HORRID though and ruined the whole thing for me

2b, did they put you back due to size or due to date of LMP?

I think its due to size. The fetal pole measured 2.4mm, which I think is super tiny small!

I'm sure I read that fetal pole is visible only from 6 weeks and they add a day to six weeks with every mm. So for example 5mm would be 6 weeks 5 days. If that makes sense? Therefore 2.4mm would be 6 plus 2?

I'm actually writing a complaint about the sonographer to the hospital now, I am So upset over how she handled us and didn't say anything/talk to us. I can't help but wonder if she was homophobic

I just had to google all those measurements to find out what they were was it an early scan?

Are you in a same sex relationship? (just from what you said) did the sonographer say anything at all or were they just 'off' with you?

I googled too! I have found 2 other ladies who measured similarly and are more than 20 weeks pregnant, so that is a bit reassuring!

It was an early scan, because I missed a period in between when I conceived!

Yes, I am in a same sex relationship, and she was definitely off with us. Just really horrible. She overtalked me, wouldn't listen to the fact that I have a blood disorder, talked over me, ignored my wife... horrid.

I've just heard form the hospital, they received my complaint, they are going to rescheduled my scan with the head sonographer and she is going to personally call me to discuss the results from this morning.

I don't blame you for being upset and while she may have just been a miserable old cow, if she has the tendency to show any lack of acceptance to same-sex couples, she needs bloody sorting now. I am grrrr for you and pleased that you are speaking up about your experience, when other couples in the same position might not feel able to. Whatever her beliefs, if she works in a role such as that, she needs to leave them at the door and treat every individual with care and respect

She said I couldn't have one as it was too early!! You could see 'something' and we would have paid the £3 they asked for! It even said on reception you could have one, so again, don't know if she was treating us different to others.

I don't care if its a picture of a blob, its our blob - I really wanted a picture of it!
