  • Happy Friday everyone :)

Had my booking in this morning - midwife seems lovely. My appointment was at our local midwife-led maternity unit which is only 6 months old, and as it was quiet she showed me round. It looks very nice! I'll also get a tour of the main unit a bit further on, but she suggested that as I had a relatively trouble-free first labour & delivery that I should definitely consider delivering in the midwife-led unit. It's only 5 minutes drive from our house, as opposed to the main unit which is 20 minutes drive (double that in rush hour!) Still, I guess I shouldn't really think that far ahead. It all seems so much more real now I've been given all the information and had bloods taken etc. I hope this one sticks! Should get my scan date in the post in the next few days - I so want to get that out of the way!

Crispy Chris, so sorry to hear your sad news. Hugs to you & your OH xxx

Chris...sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself and the OH. :)

hulagirl, that's great about your boss understanding. We still haven't decided about telling, but I don't think we'll settle on anything until after the GP visit next week, when we find out about scans, blood tests, etc.

Told my acupuncturist (who is *amazing* and in no short part, responsible for the creation of this baby :D) today, so that was nice to have hugs, congratulations, etc.

the next 7 weeks are going to go sooo slowly!

  • Morning girls - thank god it's the weekend! Have been trying every evening this week to catch up on this thread a bit but it's moved so fast this week I didn't get til the end last night!

Redwood - So sorry to hear about Felix, the picture was beautiful and like others have said - I am sure he is watching over your little bean for you now x

I wanna save money and Chris - I am so sorry for your losses. Take care and look after yourselves and partners x

Rach - Wow! Congratulations on the twins!!! That's amazing news :T and will be very cute!

    Welcome mariemcg and leandy :)

hulagirl - glad it went well with your boss. Sounds like she was very understanding. I really dont know what to do about telling my boss. My fixed term contract is ending May & there was talking of it extending til end of Oct but the boss hasn't mentioned it for a few weeks now. End of Oct would be perfect as I can finish for maternity say end of Sept, and never go back (I hate the place!!) .....but.... I need to stay now as a) it will be difficult to get another job and b) even if I do I am very unlikely to qualify for any kind of maternity pay other than statutory. So I think it's probably best to keep quiet incase they discriminate against me and not extend my contract (surely big companies don't do that I hear you all say ;)) And if they don't renew it I will never tell them, they are a bunch of stuck up people who don't know the word thank you and don't deserve to hear my happy news! (Phew - rant over - sorry!!!)

I was also interested to read about all your thoughts on pains - I too had much more at the very start of my pregnancy - as you may remember I worried lots too! But now when I get them I'm just happy as it means things are growing. I soooo can't wait for my 12 week scan!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned, my plan is to do absolutely nothing and catch up on some much needed rest!

Hello! just graduating from ttc thread

got my BFP on Thursday evening/double checked Friday morning - currently 3 wks 6 days which is ridiculously early - is anyone else anywhere near this?!

quite a few cramps over the last wk and mild nausea which is a bit annoying but at the same time sort of reassuring (since others seem to get these too)

anyway I'm sure I will have lots of questions soon but in the meantime will stick with my lurking, going to midwife on tuesday to find out what I am supposed to be doing/not doing...

sorry to hear the sad news for some people on here, only read back a little but can't imagine how difficult this is

    ok, bye for now

ps if anyone has anything to share that I should expect please do!
    :j lurks about :j
