i dont understand how people can get o2 broadband so cheap? We were paying £15 but theyre increasing the price to £20.50. we originally was told that the price may drop in future as my brother has linked his o2 mobile number to the account and also was told whenw e first set the account up it was on the best package and it was unlimited. but an honest employee basically told us it was the worse package and was on the access package!! have we been ripped off by o2??0

Linking an O2 mobile to your broadband account gets you a £5 discount on any tariff (subject to a quarterly top up of £10 if PAYG).
The Access tariff is non-LLU and therefore much more expensive, it's just a resold BT product and has very poor ratings.
If your exchange does not have O2 available LLU then it is the only O2 tariff available to you, better to use another LLU provider if so.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
sorry whats LLU??0

sorry whats LLU??
Local Loop Unbundling.
Go to samknows (link below) and find your local exchange it will give you a list of the companies that have their equipment in your exchange, you will find they are cheaper for broadband than BT. If O2 or any other company doesn't have their equipment in your exchange then they rely on the BT wholesale broadband called Access which is expensive and not very good if they have their own equipment it's usually better and cheaper (depending upon the company).

Tiscali are owned by Talk Talk now, I have no idea if their service has improved but talk talk used to be bad and as for Orange I personally wouldn't touch them with a 100ft barge pole after have problems with them in the past.
You seem to be unlucky at your exchange. :eek:0 -
O2 just offered me 6 months free for doing another 12 months on standard 9.50I think....0

Hmm wonder what will happen when my 12 months at £7 instead of £9.50 expires early next year, after, well it will be nearly 4 years with them by then.0

It seems to me that the best and only way to stop these bullying tactics by O2 is to start a campaign where everyone writes an email of complaint to O2 and Offcom.
The email needs to be a carefully worded document that you can email to friends where they just need to read, agree and if happy with the content, sign and send off. That makes it easy for people to have a voice. If O2 and Offcom receive enough complaints, O2 will have no option but to back down or fear a mass exodus of customers.
It's about time that the consumer fights back.0
