  • 56.20 from the Calor Depot in North Dorset this week-rip off UK once again ! same price as 18months ago when oil was $120+ a barrel now its $28 !!!!!!!
  • Just paid £85 for 2 x 47kg bottles of Calor (£42.50 each) from SOCAL in Southampton, who are the main supplier for this area of Hampshire. That is their 'domestic rate' for mobile homes. It has been the same price for over a year, since December 2014, so no sign of the low oil wholesale prices being passed on to the LPG market yet. The local supplier said it is Calor that hasn't yet reduced it's prices !
Reading comments on this forum suggests that there is considerable disparity with LPG prices across the country, Unfortunately the LPG market is not regulated the same as for normal energy supplies therefore LPG suppliers can get away with charging what they want.
Time for a campaign for regulation I think. Bombard OFGEM with emails and perhaps Martin Lewis would like to get involved as well?

Holiday park in SW Scortland s still charging £70 per 47kg cylinder refill, which I think is shocking. Pal in Aberdeenshire paying same for her gas being delivered to house. Could the cost differences be down to huge charge for disconnecting empty bottles and reconnecting new ones?
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

  • Got 3 x 47kg Propane delivered from Calor Worcester to Pershore the other day, £154.98 all in.
    Pretty reasonable i thought.

I would definitely give these guys a call regardless of where you are located. I did and only stayed with Calor because they were willing to undercut the price. We are in a competitive area compared to some anyway; we were paying £48 per 47kg cylinder ordering 4 at once. Woldlink guy was very pleasant and not at all pushy. He told me that they can service the whole country.
  • I am currently paying £60-00 per 47kg cylinder in east sussex delivered,i am going to request a reduction due to lower wholsale prices currently in force i will post the reply i receive.?

Find it fascinating the huge differences between prices for the same product throughout the country.
We had been paying £100 to Calor to have two 47kg cylinders delivered in Ayrshire, Scotland. I contacted Flogas, who said they'd deliver two for £94.
Contacted Calor, and said I'd noticed how much gas had come down in price and their prices didn't reflect that.
Calor now say they will deliver two for £90, but that their prices are going down soon and since they've reduced mine this time, they won't do it again when the cost to other customers drop. Is this a great technique for holding on to customers? I don't think so myself.
Frankly, I'm fed up having to haggle for something that is such a rip-off in the first place. I am paying a different price than other people getting gas delivered off the same truck.
