  • I have just changed from Calor to Avanti Over 65p down to 36p for 1st year and lower Tank charges. A little bit of corteous service might be thrown in?

    Shocked!
I thought they were really cheap... plus you have to put them in a vented room ..how many hours do they last for?

I stay in a Residential Caravan Park in Bishopbriggs Glasgow, there are 32 units on site all using the 47K bottles, our supplier is Calor Gas. Just over 15 months ago the price went from £52.50 to £55 until about 6 weeks ago we had a cold call from Flogas who quoted £46.01 inc. vat and delivery. One of our residents called Calor and told them about this price and without any hesitation they dropped their price to £46. We now have the benefit of using either of the 2 companies at this lower price so it might help you if you contact these companies and see if you can get a better deal.

This also highlights the need for industry regulation for obviously we have been getting ripped off for years...:T

Here in n ireland im paying around £90 for one !
  • I've just paid £65.24 + VAT in Warwickshire
  • Will suppliers charge me extra if I trade in a 15kg or 19kg bottle and buy a 47kg bottle ?

No, a bottle is a bottle, is a bottle! (or it always used to be)
Although I do believe they won't exchange for the 7kg butane bottles often used by mobile caravans because they are a relative rarity.

But on the subject of pricing generally.

Since LPG is a fraction of oil, the price should reflect the current fall in the price of crude. Just like our petrol prices didn't.

Trouble is, we Brits just take it all lying down.

(Looks down snooty nose) "Oh its just so un-British to actually be seen complaining."
