Everyone has to do what they think is the best course of action for them. I didn't want to go on a diet, because i didn't want to start calorie counting and depriving myself of things i wanted. I think to lose weight long term you have to change the way you eat slowly. I suppose if going on programmes like lighter life is going to enable you to do that, then you have to do it. I suppose the hardest thing is coming off of that and returning to normal eating. When i was ill last year it put me off of food, and i really needed that loss of apetite to kick start my weight loss, because i put too much into my mouth - plain and simple. Its hard now that i can't move, but its made me even more determined to do more when i can.

I hope you continue to stay starlight, i remember you when you were here last time, and i remember seeing your pics! We are all supportive of each other, but i think sometimes people feel that their way is the best way because it works so well for them, and wont entertain another persons method. As long as your happy, we're all happy!

I think I passed my BSL exam. I hope I did. I know I was scared, but the tutor gave me two thumbs up so I hope.

    Good luck for the results.

Hi Charbok, Welcome to the thread!

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Princess.

Frogletina/Starlight - im going to have to start swimming again one day, but keep putting it off. I can only do crawl (or doggy paddle if feeling lazy lol) so the old biddies in the pool dont like me being there cos crawl is more splashy that everybody else who all do breast stroke and also I'm pretty slow at getting dried and changed so going every day means altogether theres a lot of wasted time in the changing room. Ideally (instead of daily half an hour) I'd go once week and swim for 3 and a half hours... but then that's 3 hours longer than i can actually manage.

Lol, you sound like my son! He's just started swimming lessons and splashes everyone in his path when swimming lengths. He can actually swim quite well but chooses to do doggy paddle as, 'It's more fun that way!'.

I'm logging in another 70 steps, which takes me to 648 flights, or 5400 ft. I really need to up my game if I'm going to finish this challenge! Im really struggling for time lately as I've now got a baby to look after, although I suppose running around after him is exercise enough! I keep telling myself that I'll make the effort and will catch up in my steps, but it never seems to happen.

Just done Pure cardio in Insanity. Im going to be honest and say that i may not be feeling quite as well as i thought. When i was doing the workout, i had these severe head pains. It was as if someone was sticking needles in from the inside. I was about to give up during the warm up, but thought id continue until i literally couldnt do anymore and that moment came about 7 minutes from the end, as i pulled a muscle in my right leg, and was about to puke. A bit gutted that it was the first workout so far that i havnt completed to the end, but happy that even with the lingering illness signs i still managed to pull through and didnt slack. The head pains didnt exactly go either, so maybe i should have listened to my mum. I hope i dont get ill again, cos im going to be getting a good telling off and maybe one or two "I told you so" :o

Good news though, i just ordered a 2 in 1 cross trainer from amazon. This one and can't wait for it to come. Usually when i have work on saturdays and sundays, i can never find any time to sort of do exercise when i come home, as im all tired and everything. I've always wanted a bike, and just recently decided that having a cross trainer would be good too for myself and the rest of the family, so having two in one is good value, and would mean that on those weekends, i can come home and do 10-20mins on either the cross trainer or exercise bike and know that having work is no excuse to not put the time in to do exercise and i'd know that i did my bit for the day to count towards the week's loss.

You should listen to your mum Princess_x 6.gif A couple of days off Insanity to recuperate fully will do you the world of good and won't harm the results that much. If you however keep on pressing, you may be out of action for a couple of weeks instead

You can still do some gentler workouts though but Insanity is killing even for those 100% healthy.

Haha. To be honest though, for the past couple of weeks, she's been telling me to stop killing myself with these workouts, that i looked completely fine now, that she could see my collarbone sticking out etc. etc. She even tries to get me to eat some of the fried stuff she makes because she feels sorry and it hurts her when she sees me eating cod and whatnot. I guess in this journey of mine, i'm also trying to get the others to change the way they deal with food and to understand it more.

Anyway, I knew she had a point this time though, but it wasn't that much different to all the other times she told me to stop. :p I just didn't want to have to give up, even though i had a valid reason to stop. And the fact that i dont like gentle workouts lol.

I went into work today, then got sent back home. They told me that because i cancelled yesterdays shift, they cancelled all other shifts today, so todays ended up getting cancelled. They also didnt book me in for this weekend nor next week, didn't tell me why, but im assuming its for the same reason. So frustrating. Told me to call in on monday for next weeks shifts. That £150+ gone down the drain. Oh wells, can't really blame myself as its not as if i was lying about being ill. Just seems like a kinda stupid protocol to cancel all other shifts.
