I did WW a few years ago as I said in earlier posts but to be honest the fact I put so much weight on (and that was after losing it in a slow and sure way) again I knew I needed something that was going to get me to goal quicker for the sake of my health. I honestly couldnt have gone on the way I was.
My doctor has given me absolute approval for it and I go see her regularly (by choice not because I have to)
I know theyre not for everyone but they do work very well for a lot of people and I do plan to go back to WW once Ive lost more weight as its not the most fun in the world sticking to shakes and bars lol
Oh, and hope youre feeling better soonDont stress about eating when youre poorly getting better is the main thing
Thanks hun.
I totally understand your point. I guess it just depends on whether you're determined or not. Different things work for different people so fair enough. I personally could never stick to shakes and bars lol. I once had the slimfast milkshake and it tasted awful, both the strawberry and vanilla, yuck.
Hope you get to goal soon though.0 -
Eric - i notice you said in the long term - and i think most of these plans have a recommended time limit on them so i dont think the fatal remark would be likely to apply unless people deliberately go against the advice as written on the packets.
I know that you dont need a doctors permission to go on the cambridge diet, not sure about any others.
My dad was on that for two months i think and he lost nearly three stone, but then put it back in the few months returning to traditional food.
(as a side note: he used to buy the soups and so on off a woman called Mrs Cod... a name that, as a kid, I couldn't help but find funny all the time)
I dont know whether slimfast is approved by all the appropriate people,in fact i dont know if slimfast is classed as a VLCD anyway? but anyway i was only talking to a nurse at the eating disorders clinic about that product yesterday and it was pretty obvious that it got the thumbs down from her.
Starlight - just curious have you worked out your BMR?0 -
Slimfast isnt a VLCD. Its very high in sugar, carbs etc and you dont go into ketosis and the losses I believe are around that of a more conventional diet. You need a doctors permission for CD if youre sole sourcing (purely on shakes). If youre doing a slightly higher plan like SS+ etc you dont. As you say though these arent a long term diet plan.
To be fair though its not losing weight fast on a VLCD that causes people to gain weight though, its what you do when youve lost your weight whether that was via a VLCD, WW, SW or whatever. Im great proof of that. I lost a huge amount of weight on WW and then put it back on.
My BMR - yes I haveits high lol

I think I passed my BSL exam. I hope I did. I know I was scared, but the tutor gave me two thumbs up so I hope.
Still working with WII fit, but I think my problem is snacking. One piece of meat in my mouth when making sandwiches, and one bite of leftovers when I am in the fridge, etc, etc.Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time0 -
