I've been a referee and also been involved in training referees. Referees are instructed to NEVER get physically involved with players squaring up to each other. The official advice is to stand back and make sure you can identify the perpetratorsGwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -

That keys does come across as a bit of a pri*ck, but to get so much stick for having a personal opinion off air, and never meant for viewing is ridiculous. Far worse gets said in our office!
Nice clip, haven't seen that before :rotfl:Like you say, stuff like that is commonplace in most workplaces - the women are just as bad as the men in my experience
Here's hoping they replace him with Georgie Thompson, I definately would0 -
At least now when there's an Arsenal match on tele there will be unbiased commentary! I don't like Arsenal myself anyway so it's even more annoying to hear him fawn all over them and not see them doing any wrong. That clip above of Keys above is embarassing for him, I said to my OH tonight that rather than finding it offensive I just find it cringey, he's like that bloke down the pub that's always staying stuff for attention desperate to fit in with the 'lads' and failing miserably. I feel for the girl though, I'm sure she'd rather be known for doing her job right than as 'that woman Andy Gray got sacked for saying things about'.0

Haven't a clue what they're on about, but whatever it is, the guy next to Redknapp keeps out of it and carries on texting.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

We have conversations much worse than that pretty much everytime i'm out with the lads are in the pub as i'm sure most groups of lads do. I don't see the problem with that video and why people are kicking up a stink it's not like they were on air is it. Is there a new rule out that bans people in the media having any sort of conversation at work??If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

People can be donkeyholes when they are down the pub with their donkeyhole mates but if they are professional broadcasters they need to make sure that they are not anywhere near a live mike. Or caught snorting cocaine - or paying a visit to Miss Whiplash.
There's nothing new in people who are part of the public face of some entity being required to adhere to a somewhat higher standard of behaviour in public. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
If I was in charge at Sky Sports, I would be a lot more worried at the fact that these recordings of private conversations that are not in the public domain are finding their way onto YouTube.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Dont be.. Andy Gray is into suing the NOTW for a lot of money. This gave murdoch a perfect way of getting him sacked..

ok, i think it is rather convinient (spelling??) that as Andy Gray is sueing NOTW that all this comes out.. but i have always been of the opinion that he is a prat!his commentary is always biased, Ron atkinson was sacked for off air comments regarding someones race so why not sexist comments- they would not have questioned a male refs abilities. I think Richard keys sounds like a dreadful bore & this is summed up by the latest clip where he refers to jamies ex & smashing her & jamie being found up behind her- jamie looks embarassed, guillet carries on texting & souness ignores him, clearly an embarrassing moment of someone trying to be 'one of the lads' & failing miserably.
should they have been sacked, TBH yes as the comments are offensive.
I have 2 daughters one a qualified coach the other a referee & u would be surprised how many xomments they get regarding their ability to do what they are qualified to do...Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
