But pretty much everyone has a conversation at some point about someone and whether they would or not be it a totally random person, Girls Aloud or Johnny Depp.

Just for the record the lady linesman..... I wouldn't, Girls Aloud...... I would ;):D

Yeah of course we've all had the conversation but you don't have the conversation when you are being recorded, or sat at work next to your boss etc. You have the conversation in your own time with your mates down the pub. There is a work/private life divide and you can't bring unacceptable behviour into the workplace or you face the consequences

If you were walking down the road with your lass and 2 policemen walked past where they said quite vocally your lass was rough you could complain to their bosses. They would then be disciplined. However if it was two blokes down the pub, although you would be annoyed they wouldn't get disciplined at work as what they are doing doesn't reflect on the employer. Its just 2 guys down the pub.

But not when they KNOW they've just come off-air on a programme watched by millions and their microphones are still attached.

Gray & Keys deserve to be sacked simply for their monumental stupidity.

To be fair my ex-boss was a stunner and I told her that I would on more than one occasion both at work and out of it, we were good friends though. I suppose it was a good job she didn't care less about being PC and what people said or we'd have all been sacked at some point.

The problem is when you get into the mindset that you can make sexual innuendos to work colleagues without causing offence and along comes somebody who DOES take offence.

I know what you're saying and I agree but in my opinion it's a shame that people take offence so easily and there is less and less people can say with the whole political correctness thing.

  • Glad he's been sacked, he wont be missed. Not one of the men where I work (and there are a lot of them) liked him. Much prefer ESPN for footy pundits anyway.

I don't think it's a case of people taking offence so easily.

What some people find acceptable, others don't.

    I guess it's like swearing.
Some people use the F word constantly and don't think anything of it, other people find it offensive.

Who cares about Gray ? He is a Scotsman and good riddance. You could bearly understand what he was taliking about anyway when he commentated. Let him go back home to commentate on the pointless and poor Scottish football !!

    He won't be missed !!

Yes i do think the comment about the female ref was wrong and gray was sacked which is right way of doing things, but i dont see what the comment made by keys about redknapps ex misses has to do with anything (but i admit ive not heard the whole conversation) as it sounds like its banter between 2 guys

gray and keys should have kept they're thoughts to themselves or said the comments with no mics around

Personally, I don't condone any kind of 'ism' but I'm more into equality. To that end, I'd suggest that all women (including those at Sky) who have never used that crass line "men can't multitask' please stand up, as I find it offensive.

If Andy Gray lost his job rather than being told to stop over this kind of thing then none of us, of any gender, would be left standing if that was the required standard.

Incidentally, I don't see men multitasking too often - they tend to do one thing at a time - but do it properly! ;)
