People can be donkeyholes when they are down the pub with their donkeyhole mates but if they are professional broadcasters they need to make sure that they are not anywhere near a live mike. Or caught snorting cocaine - or paying a visit to Miss Whiplash.

There's nothing new in people who are part of the public face of some entity being required to adhere to a somewhat higher standard of behaviour in public.

The stupid thing about all this is that James Cordon, Jamie Redknapp, John Bishop and Andrew Flintoff have had a similar conversation on A League Of Their Own which was aired and no-one batted an eyelid or said a word about it.

Where does it all stop? Someone somewhere will be offended by a comment on pretty much every television programme from The Weakest Link to Frankie Boyles show.

As they so often do, The Daily Mash sum this storm in a teacup up nicely:

Although, anything that gets Andy Gray off out screens can't be a bad thing. Can someone now please trawl through everything Garth Crooks has said to try and find something offensive.

Not sure if anyone listened to talksport last night but they had Stan Collymore defending them. This is Stan who famously beat up Urika Johnson in a pub and got fired from the BBC for dogging. Though I am obviously a football fan (Goater the man city great), there are lots of unsavoury people in football. Its no coincidence that in all the hundreds of football players there are, I don't think there is an openly gay footballer out there. They know if they "come out" they'll be abused by people like Keys and Gray. Not in public but behind there back. You have to wonder what else these two have said and not been caught on audio saying it.

Despite this though I don't believe they should be fired, maybe if they do something similar again then thats a possibility but a one match ban and a public apology from there is enough in my book.

Its all context, a league of their own is a comedy show so you expect close to the bone humour. On the other hand a woman probably has the right to go to a workplace and not be told to stick her hands down Andy Gray's pants!

Still I think they should have gone down the Jonathan Ross root and given him a long suspension. Seems harsh to give him a warning and then fire him because of an incident that happened before he got the warning!

I agree with the first paragraph.

Re the second, I might be wrong but didn't they give him ther warning for the comments about the female lines(wo)man and then as other incidents starting coming to light they decided to sack him?

Yeah you're probably right. However the other incidents had numerous witnesses and were on camera so they must have known about them before. Out of the three incidents the most seedy for me was Andy Gray and Andy Burton talking about whether they would or not!

Sexist remarks will get you fired from any job and quite right too.

But pretty much everyone has a conversation at some point about someone and whether they would or not be it a totally random person, Girls Aloud or Johnny Depp.

Just for the record the lady linesman..... I wouldn't, Girls Aloud...... I would ;):D
