Old style daily 24/01/2011

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for monday:j 24th January. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

Dry here and not too cold.

Re facebook. Iv sent taplady a friend request, so jsut waiting on her to accept that.

Well im up and really for work. Dont really feel like going but i do feel better thn yesterday afternoon.

Iv got two cheease and onion slices for my dinner today pluss the fruit that i normaly take.

Im not sure what to do for dinner tonight, will have to have a think about that during the day.

Not got that more to say really.

Good morning Halight and all to follow.
Dark and damp here, so will put the washing on soon but it will be TD not line today.
Will need to make more bread today, littlest DGS want white - usually make wholewheat with seeds.
Dinner tonight should be ribs & stir fry. I shall make the ragu for tomorrow's pasta this morning so that the flavours can develop.

Morning all!

Windy and chilly sounding here, about to wrap up and venture out to swimming then work.

Tried making soup yesterday without a recipe, hopefully it's worked out cos that's my lunches this week - tomato and pepper, yum (if it's right!) OH cooks on a Monday, having pasta and red pesto with LO chicken from Saturday's roast. Ribs and stir fry sounds yum silvermaid, I'm gonna have a hankering for that all week!

Morning all
Off to work soon, usual chores done, breakfast eaten & fish fed. Hubby won £10 on the lottery, I need to collect his winnings & convert it into petrol for the car.
I've nearly finished one of the cot blankets, so only 2 more to go. My next DD was due to give birth last Friday, but no sign yet & DGD is 3 on 30th I need to get her a card & I think clothes vouchers.

Morning all, it's cold out today- had to nip round to the shop for some bread. After doing nothing yesterday i need to have a thorough clean, i had a bad case of CBA yesterday- the dinner pots didn't even get washed:( Got to think of something to do with some sausage meat today- it was a 9p YS bargain after christmas.
Got a birthday party to go to after school so i need to be organised.

Morning all

I have an interview at 8:15 this morning. I did pull out of it last night after reading some very negative comments about the company when doing research but the girl at the agency assures me that she has placed several people there and has had very good feedback so I'm going to make up my own mind! then on to work. Pack-ups are done, kids are getting ready for school - DD isn't at nursery today so if they are not going anywhere it is likely that her and DH will spend the day in their dressing gowns! (jealous ?? me??)
Dinner for me this evening is leftovers from yesterday and the rest will have sausage, chips and beans. I'm still eating well and haven't fell off the wagon food wise but I did have some wine over the weekend but I enjoyed it so much it can't have been bad for me

I've booked a taxi to take me to the interview as I don't know if there is parking available for the public and I don't want to risk the bus incase i'm late.

Mix it with some softened onion and a made-up packet of stuffing and use as a pie filling

Good morning all,

I generally just lurk on the daily thread but thought I'd say hello today as I'm home sick

Probably going to get very little done today due to whatever bug I have but will need to make some bread and do some laundry. Other than that I'm going to spend to day alternating between knitting and planning lunchbox ideas and meals that can be either completely or partially made for the freezer. My OH got a job (after two years off ) and is due to start next Tuesday! Very exciting but means I won't be able to force him to make dinner on my late days. :rotfl:

Morning all,

Too dark here to see what the weather is doing, but the last few days have been great for drying the washing, so will get a few loads done today.

Mum had to borrow my hoover last night, hers has broken, so need to pick that up today to hoover through, might try and see my dad later on, depends if they will let us.

Dinner tonight is something with chicken, I might roast it, and have veg with mine, OH could have mash.

Weigh in day today, will do it once I am back from the school run.

Morning all!!

The scales told me i'd put on 3lbs this morning!! I know i can't physically have over eaten by 10500 calories so i shall assume it's water weight from too much salt intake.

OH went to work at 6am i got up and took the dog out for a long walk. Now just having a cuppa before i head off to work.

Slow cooker is on with beef stew for dinner, lunch is a pasta mug shot, banana and ww cake bar.

I need to clean kitchen when i get home and pay some bills.

Ohh yeah!! OH is doing some work for a family member in Hampshire, at the moment it's as and when he needs him, but OH has put forward the idea that if the oppertunity arrises he would like to work for him full time and if that happens we will be moving!!! It will be about 1hr from where we are now and i cant wait!
