They eat/sleep/poo together - doubt they stress one another...

I've given you suggestions to look at but you seem to have an answer for everything lol

Immediate sources of stress I can spot just from your posts:

    a) four cats sharing 1 or 2 litter trays
    b) chopping & changing litter types frequently
    c) chopping & changing food frequently
    d) four cats confined to indoor space

I'm not saying your cats are stressed, impossible to say without seeing them in their environment. I'm offering it as a possible cause of your problems. It's up to you to work through the options I've mentioned to find the solution. Good luck :)

Chameleon - I hear you, I hear you, do not stress....

What I am saying though tht the cats are fine, they play/eat/drink/have beutiful shiney coats, are friendly towards anyone, jump on people's laps for cuddles, cuddle up with the dog etc etc...

What I am also saying that they do not take any notice whatsoever if I change the cat litter, they just go in and do what they have to do in there not paying attention what is in there.

I am not really changing the food that much - they get one type in the morning and another in the evening.

Lots of cats are indoor only and live happy lives, my lot have each other for company - and the dog of course so they do not get lonely.

Yes, the medical reasons for the runny poo in 2 boys have been ruled out so yes, I agree it may be diet related - to find the right diet though I need to change the food (again) and experiment - what else can I do?

    :D

    Try dry food, much nicer.

One of the cats will NOT touch any dry food at all.

Ok, looked it up and found it on Zooplus. Wonder whether my cats would fancy eating kangaroo, ostrich & buffalo? :D Not sure what makes it so much better than any wet food produced in the UK though. It actually has less protein content than Felix.

Did you really mean aniconda carni is worse? One of my two gets `dandruff' eating Felix or other supermarket wet food but not with Bozita or Aniconda carni - so I am completely sold on them.

I feel that there will be as many opinions about cat food as there is cat [STRIKE]slaves[/STRIKE] owners on the forum.

As long as cats are happy with the food, there is no problem, is there.

Topic is about cat litter though....:A

Don't bother with the Tesco 8L Clumping litter for £1.99 someone mentioned, it's exactly the same as Aldi's where you get 10L for £1.79. I always used to use the Tesco one, until I found out about Aldi's... lasts me MUCH longer!
  • i live in northern ireland, so don't have any aldi's :( can't help but feel a little ripped off now, haha

Ordered some Tesco own clumping one to be delivered with my normal food shopping.

I do not drive and the nearest Aldi is a train ride away so tha fares would eat up any possible saving (I do not normally shop at Aldi), never mind carrying those bags on train and bus.... :(

Will see how the Tesco one works for my lot....
  • Hi there
I have 9 cats. 8 of which are indoor only (Have access to a run)

I use OKO plus. I love it despite the fact it tracks. Having this many cats means I have to hoover every day anyway!

I feed animonda carny TINS (not rafine or any other strain), Bozita TINS and Smilla TINS. As a dry food I feed Orijen. I can highly recommend you read these threads written by the lovely Hobbs over on petforums. She has spent a lot of time and you get to see a breakdown of the majority of foods you can think of, both wet and dry. She has also researched and contacted the companies to get the ACTUAL meat content and you will also be able to see which are grain free :). Hope this helps a wee bit :)

  • And I would just like to refer everyone to the section in which Hobbs has written about animonda carny (She is refering to the tins! not pouches)
