  • Aw Squirrel, don't worry! I found the consultant led unit very welcoming. I had a fab midwife who stayed with me throughout. As I said a doc ended up hovering when baby was in distress but the midwife saw him off saying she'll do it, which I was glad of...didn't want any instruments  if there are no probs in delivery chances are you won't even see a doc. It's called consultant led but I think it's more like midwife led but with docs able to be called in quickly if needed.
  • Faithhope, thanks for that. It's just not something I've ever really thought of before and I've never known anyone to have it. That sounds more reassuring thank you!!

Squirrel - If you are only consultant led for PCOS and weight, I wouldn't think you'll end up seeing a consultant very much. Being under consultant led care doesn't mean you're going to be in hospital every week to see them, it just means you have risk factors that may cause some problems at some point. Having said that, they are just that, risk factors, and do not mean that you are going to have lots of problems. Most of the time you don't even see the consultant during ante-natal appointments...you just get fobbed off with their registras and midwifes! Someone with a BMI of 30.0 would be under consultant led care, yet 29.9 and it'd be midwife led! Don't worry about anything and remember to ask lots of questions if you aren't sure :)

Welcome to al the new people. Someone else will have to do the lists as I'm 23+6 so should really be disappearing soon!

Got a call from my consultants secretary just before and she has organised some physio for me to try and help with the SPD. It's quite mild atm but it got quite bad with DS and I'm going to struggle commuting my sorry backside 80 miles a day to Uni until I'm 37 weeks. At the moment, my lectures finish Friday 6th and section is booked for Mon 9th!

Hope everyone is okay. I'm supposed to be going for lunch with some friends at 12:30 but OH had to order a new suit for next day delivery yesterday evening (wedding this weekend) which means I have to wait in for it. Annoying! Why are men so disorganised!!

Still holding out here from buying any new mat clothes/bras. Got my old mat clothes back from a friend with a few 'new' pieces but I'm going to have to get an extra pair of trousers and a bikini soon.

Is everyone taking preg vits? I'm trying to take them (am not good at doing anything regularly) but there's one sat on my desk from this morning, I really don't like taking tablets.

Feeling a bit mopey as I feel like I should be doing lots of stuff and have no energy, DH has taken over cooking dinner and DS is watching far too much TV, even walking to work this morning felt like a chore!

Here's hoping that my energy levels go up and not further down!
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

I stopped, I'm crap at taking tablets. I took them at the beginning when they say it is really important, but I probably missed one every now and then and I then just stopped when I hit about 20 weeks, they are in my kitchen next to the kettle which would be great if I drank tea or coffee, but I don't!

I have a varied diet so I don't see the need really. I have upped my calcium intake though as I read the baby is now pinching all of my calcium!!
    Got married 13/11/10 :)
