Congratulations Lily that's fantastic news. Just checked my company policy and they say I can commence on any week day. I'm taking from December as holiday, then I'll have an extra 6 days when I go back of compulsory holiday as that's bank holidays which have to be had. I'll also have another 2 weeks to claim of K.I.T days, they don't pay for these it's time off in lieu. So that's an extra 3 weeks before I even add on the extra 20 days holiday I'll have to take between end of October and end of December. I think I'll probably go back a month early so I get paid an extra months salary.

I am absolutely ravenous, this has been going on since Saturday and I'm not used to it. All I want to do is eat, eat, eat!!!

    Great news Lily :j

I seem to be swinging between being really tired and motivated to clean? Feeling a real need to get things in order, I didn't feel the need so early in my last pregnancy.

Just going to watch the midwives, not sure if that is a good idea or not :rotfl:

Pleased for your positive scan Lily x

Thanks for your ideas re pregnancy pillows. I used to sleep on my front til i had bad neck pain about 6 months ago. I retrained myself to sleep on my back... Now I need to retrain myself again! Have given in and bought a snake type long thin pillow from mothercare, free delivery softens the blow! Think it will work as a feeding pillow as well as a sleeping pillow now. Bought a tankini for hols/ swimming too. No more spending til holibobs!

One of my friends announced a pregnancy today! We've known each other since we were toddlers and went to high school together, though we've grown apart a bit through our twenties. She's due about 5-6 weeks after me so will be nice to spend more time together again and become mums together. She lives across London from me but might be moving in with boyfriend (yes this one was a surprise baby!) who I think lives a bit closer to me. Really pleased for her and me!

I woke up on my back this morning and felt guilty. Then I felt ridiculous for feeling guilty and thought how much my Mum would laugh at me. A generation ago there were a lot fewer rules! :)

  • Is it just me of is it ages between appointments? I am sure last time the appointments werent this far apart. I saw the midwife 7th August when I was 15 weeks had my scan at 20 weeks my next appointment isnt until 16th October when I will be 26 weeks for a GTT test? That seems like ages away I guess there is nothing they can do at the moment anyway just seems like ages
Just take each day as it comes. :)

Star - I think you get more midwife appointments with a first pregnancy than with a second so you might feel the difference!

Star, is there not a page in your notes that tells you about appointments? I've got a flowchart that tells me when I should expect my appointments for either a first or second baby. Definitely fewer for second babies than first.
