    Morning all,
Becca: I moved up a bra size before 12 weeks but am mainly in normal clothes at 17 weeks though my wearable wardrobe has got much smaller! Problems for me are jeans (none fit any more) and tights (keep falling down) - am going mat shopping next weekend and have some hand me downs from a friend to keep me clothed! Her denim skirt is already a favourite with me! Happy sunny Monday all x

Thanks faithhope, poor sleep makes my other conditions symptoms worse too, which is when I really come to my wits end ;) I can't work (because of the conditions) so I do generally manage to sleep in to make up for out a bit...when MiniZee lets me anyway ;)

Becca, my clothes weren't the right size anyway, due to the previous 6st weightloss, so I'm still getting away with most of my (non-wired sports-type) bras that were getting too big but other than that I'm in maternity stuff almost full time. I found that there are/were non-maternity clothes I could wear, from previous bigger sizes, but they did nothing for my self esteem or comfort, so I when I got post the saying scan and all was well I bought jeans (I've found the comfiest to be new look's with the belt loops, cos they just don't start up without imo) and t shirts/tops and a hoody and joggers and a onesie (comfiest thing ever, again from new look - I've never had one before, but no waistbands? Yes please! :p). I don't need to worry about office wear obviously, but comfort is very important to me as my nerve endings are hyper-sensitive, so that guides my choices.

I have a friend with a 5 month old who wore nothing but her normal clothes with bump bands occasionally, all the way through her pregnancy. So, in short, it's up to you and how comfy you are :)

I'm off out to look at holidays (for beginning of september, hopefully at last minute deal prices) this afternoon. I had a hormonal, sleep-deprived, pain & discomfort fed melt down last night. Which then resulted in worrying about whether I can even handle going away right now, but I really want me and dh to experience an abroad package holiday together at least once in our lives :o we've never been abroad together, dh has never been on a package holiday, and I want us to have this time out together & this experience together. I'm well aware that it'll be different/harder when we have little one(s) and want us to have this experience first... I think I've come to the conclusion I need to take my wheelchair with me (I'd hoped not to need it but I think I'm kidding myself :p) and need to find out from the holiday agents how that would work with the airlines etc...

    Enjoy your Bank Holidays :)

    Hi bigzippy

we two are thinking about a holiday in September, we both have 10 days off from the 20th and thinking about Majorca. One day I want to book, another I think we could use that money for the baby etc - I just can not decide at the moment.

I worked for a middle eastern airline before moving to a more 9-5 travel job and if it is just a normal wheelchair, not a motorise one, you should be fine just turning up at the airport for it to be placed on the plane. The amount of times I was told the passenger had booked through the travel agent and the message never got through to the airport or airline but it was never ever a problem. (if it is a motorise one, you do need to advise the airline)Normal wheelchairs are treated the same way as prams and buggies - can you imagine if you had to tell the airline if you were taking a pram - we would of have to have our own hotline :rotfl:hope you find a lovely holiday and have time to relax. (oh if the airline is Ryanair or any other low cost, I would just double check first!!)

Kerri_dfw - I have made my first dribble bib today! I love it, though I do think its abit small round the neck, it only just fits round a teddy! I think the next one I will make abit bigger.
Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!

Ooh, BZ, did you book a holiday today?! Hope you got a bargain if so. We're off to Wales in a week's time on a Sun holiday (£75 inc bed linen for all of us can't be bad) so I'm praying this nice weather lasts til then  I think you had something more exotic in mind than Llandudno, though :)

MrsBunny and Kerri I am very impressed with your crafty skills, wish I was good at making things although I have a feeling it'd be like my friend who's good at baking - any savings from making her own are cancelled out by her doing it all the time!

Becca I have just gone into maternity clothes this week at 19+ weeks. But then I am a SAHM so live in comfy, practical things. If I had to wear anything more formal / fitted I'd have gone into them asap :rotfl:I'm glad I have gone into them now because we have a wedding in 3 weeks and I have a gorgeous Tiffany Rose dress to wear - I was worried it'd have an empty pouch at the front as I didn't really have a bump until a few days ago!

AFM I have my 20 week scan tomorrow :T I will be exactly 20 weeks. Scan is late afternoon, so my mum is having DD and giving her her tea and hopefully we are going to go out for tea to celebrate! I am really quite anxious, though. Wish it was first thing as will be stressing all day. Sorry to end things on a downer: DH's mum had 4 known spina bifida pregnancies which were sadly not compatible with life :( and this is the scan where they look for that. On the other hand, they didn't even know about folic acid back in the 80s/ early 90s and I was religious with taking mine!

Thanks for the reassurance Mrsbunny, it's a normal manual one that collapses, thankfully. More work for hubby that way though ;) I know what you mean about to-ing and fro-ing though. If we'd ever been abroad together and/or DH had ever experienced a package holiday and/or we hadn't been putting off going on a "proper" holiday in case we needed the money for IVF (it was a likely scenario for a while there), then I think I'd be less keen... But with all those things being as they are and us being very unlikely to have a holiday alone now for a couple of decades (), I'm thinking we should just bite the bullet and do it :) Now I just have to get the Mse side of me to release the funds! ;)

Mincepie good luck with the scan tomorrow (well, today now ;)), I'm sure all will be well :)

We didn't book a holiday today but did have a look at a few. It seems I was quite spoilt for location etc on the family beach/abroad holidays we had growing up, so being streets away from the beach/without a lovely pool/etc is not acceptable to me ;) I do want this holiday to be "just so" though, so I've come to the conclusion that if I'm going to part with a large sum of money I may as well be excited about the location etc that I'm going to! So I expanded my budget a little ;) there's one serious contender atm, in Spain, so we'll see how I feel about it tomorrow :) The ones they were telling us about in the agents just didn't feel "right", especially when we had another look when we got home and found out what one if them was calling a beach! We'll see what tomorrow brings ;)

Hope you enjoy llandudno! :) I think our holidays for the next few years will be similar- with dogs coming along too. It's a pain in the neck trying to get their care covered, so I think the solution will be to take them with us, mostly.

Glad your scare turned out OK Amy! :)

Very jealous of the crafty ladies, I have a sewing machine (hand-me-down from MIL) but too scared to actually use it unattended! :o

Becca, I just wore my maternity jeans for the first time on Saturday and was sooo comfy! :) Technically I could still wear my normal jeans doing the hairbobble trick, but I like to get my money's worth out of clothes! ;)

Hope the scan goes well for you today Mincepie! :)

Hope you get a holiday booked soon BZ! Sometimes you have to let the MSE side look away for a while whilst you enjoy life and make memories together! OH and I always say we're not too bothered about 'things' but would always spend what little money we have on holidays as that it what makes us happy and we love making memories together, we still have laughs about our first holiday together. :) Go on mine on Saturday and we're so excited, bump's first holiday! :j

We got a little overexcited at the weekend and picked our travel system and nursery furniture! :o OH was getting really worked up at not having anything sorted so he's happy now... although he wants it all delivered and set up NOW! Poor guy is going to drive himself batty by February! He has also relented on finding out the sex, decided that as romantic as the idea of a surprise is, it's just not him as he needs to know everything there is to know as soon as he can know it! :)

Got my 16 week appointment with the midwife at 10. :)

BZ I'm glad your appointment went well, sounds like it was a huge weight off your mind. Thanks for all the tips re maternity clothes, I'm off to New Look today to investigate jeans! Hope you manage to find the right holiday for you xx

Amy glad you are ok now, that must have been very worrying

    Welcome pippa

MrsBunny you sound very creative! I'm just about to buy some wool today as I want to start knitting the baby a hat. Will see how that goes before I get any more creative than that!

faithhope are you due 3rd March too? Exciting!

mincepiemonster good luck for your 20 week scan today x

Birdie I agree with how comfy they are! When I tried on the work trousers, I said to DH I'm never wearing normal ones again :rotfl:Which travel system did you choose? x

Thanks for the advice about maternity clothes. I tried bump bands but hated them, you could clearly see my trousers were undone  so I went shopping with DH yesterday and brought a fair few bits - work trousers, vests, tshirts, a dress and a work top. I should manage for a while in my normal work clothes as I usually wear dresses so just need to get some maternity tights as mine are too tight. Have also picked up a couple of cheap bundles on eBay. I had to buy a new bra as had gone up a cup size and when I went yesterday, I'd gone up a back size too! Starting to feel a bit more real now although I'm definitely in that 'fat' stage!
(Oh and I've also ordered a Pink Linings changing bag in the sale :D)

We chose the BabyStyle Oyster with the lime green colour pack. :D Want people to see me coming! Planning on getting other colour packs in time though so we can switch about for a 'new' pushchair whenever we feel like it. :)

We looked at this yesterday and thought it was lovely! I'm totally in love with the Bugaboo Chameleon though!
