Aw lovely to see your scan Calien :) Hope your scan went well Mincepiemonster.

Yes Becca! I'm due 3rd March too! :D

Jealous of everyone who's booking hols. I would love a break although I would still have toddler & teenager so there would be a limit to how much of a break it would be.

Jox - I also got low risk for Downs and I'm 41. I'm sure you'll be fine. If you got low risk when your age is factoring against you then that must mean the other results were pretty good? Do you know what the nuchal measurement was? That might put your mind at rest a bit if it was really low. Mine was only 1.1 :o

So lovely for those of you who have heard your baby's heartbeat. For some reason I've got my 16 wk appt at 15 wks. Hope I'll be able to hear the heartbeat then. Not sure if that's too early?

With DD1 no-one noticed I was pregnant even when I was 5 mths. I went into maternity clothes at 6 mths. With DD2 it was earlier but this time I think my belly just went bleugh as soon as I'd POAS :rotfl:
I can't fit any normal clothes apart from a floaty dress and stretchy leggings. Maternity jeans being delivered tomorrow :D

Thanks for sharing your scan Calien. Hope yours went ok too Mincepie.
I spotted a girl in a lovely maternity dress on way home today so googled it tonight and discovered asos.com do maternity. This is the one: http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-Exclusive-Belted-Dress-with-Scoop-Neck-in-Star/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2944736&WT.ac=rec_viewed Some nice things in their sale if anyone's interested ;)

  • Thanks for all the lovely messages, after spending 50 minutes in the scan room jiggling about, going for a wee, drinking ice cold water they finally got the measurements they needed and all is fine  Our little girl :) is doing well! 20 weeks today!

TeamLowe the sneezing thing tmade me giggle for some reason, got visions of you getting DH to tickle your nose with a feather duster covered in pepper to get the resulting kicks!

Amy don't know how I managed to forget to mention your long message.... I'm so glad it was just a scare and hope you are feeling better.

Calien beautiful picture, nice to hear I'm not the only one with a naughty, camera shy baby :rotfl:hope you get a good deal on your 3D scan - I was lucky and got one through Wowcher :money:

Becca I loved my Pink Lining change bag and can't wait to use it again! Mine came wrapped in tissue and it was so exciting opening it. I very rarely buy things for myself and I remember justifying it to myself that it was "for the baby" to excuse the price tag!

Birdie hopefully your DH won't just keep buying more stuff from now until Feb! Although I think it is so sweet that he's excited - your descriptions always make me smile!

Kerri I remember you posting the bump pic a few weeks ago, it was a definite baby bump although you are very petite! Hope your hairband trick keeps working a few weeks longer - I was gutted when I had to put my favourite jeans into storage when having DD. Still fit in mine - just - this time round!

Yay team pink, congratulations MPM :)

I have another bump photo...definite bump this time. This was 7 days ago. I have measured my stomach today, I've grown an extra inch since Saturday! Baby is fast expanding. I have no idea where my bio-oil is though :(

Calien what a gorgeous scan pic :D

MPM delighted to hear your girl is doing well :D

Things here are going well, I have a few weeks to wait for my 20 week scan and I am already excited about seeing the baby again. Been looking at reusable nappies, which I was initially really keen to get however now I am unsure if I want to go down that route?

To those of you that work, I was wondering how long you are hoping to take on maternity leave? I had been aiming for 6 months and when I told a close friend she was very shocked that I would take so little time :( . I would love to take a year however as the main earner that isn't an option and I wondered if anyone else was going back early?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Yay! Where are you off to BZ?

Rummer I too am going to look at reusables, have you checked what your council offers if anything? Ours gives a voucher or loan packs.

Nct classes - I've initially signed up for the antenatal ones, has anyone signed up to the birth & beyond ones?

Rummer - I'm going to use reusables, the savings by far our-weight the convenience factor. Although everytime I tell my sister she just says "oh I tried those but didn't get on with them" and then tells me x amount of other people that tried and failed. Although she is lazy, and buys convenience food so go figure.
I'm telling my manager 9 months mat leave but will probably go back after 6, but that will actually be 8 due to holiday. I'm taking from December - January as a months holiday saved up, then mat leave from Jan 1st due date. Then I'll take additional holiday before I come back to work.

BZ - congrats on holiday booking, where are you off to?

Becca - We're going to sign up for nct classes, keep forgetting I need to do that thanks for reminding me. Not sure about birth and beyond though, will check what they have in Bristol.

AFM - absolutely knackered today, woke up at stupid o'clock needing to pee. Then OH's alarm went off at 6:30am grrrr!!! Then he made me go and sit downstairs whilst he ate breakfast...for goodness sake! Might go back to bed for a nap for 30mins now the cats are fed.

I keep forgetting to look for NCT classes :o I had a quick look a couple of weeks ago and dates/places seemed pretty awkward for my area though. :(

Hooray for booking your holiday BZ! Where are you going? I love to have a nosey at other people's destinations! :)

Great news about being team pink MincePie! :)

Rummer, I'm not sure about reusable nappies. I like the idea but it's whether or not we can afford the initial outlay... and it's down to me convincing OH! When I first mentioned it he was horrified at the idea even after I explained how they work (he's very squeamish so the idea of changing nappies anyway makes him feel ill, never mind having to wash the nappies after they'd been used! :p)

Last night OH started talking a new language a.k.a Mamas and Papas collection names! He was looking on his phone and saying 'Oooh Millie and Boris is on sale', I was like, 'What's on sale?!', 'Oh, Elfie and Mop too! Oh how about some Gingerbread?!'... then it clicked! He said that this is how he feels when I shout out handbag designers! :rotfl:

Oh I forgot to say about maternity leave, it looks like I'll be heading back early too. :( I earn more than OH and we just can't afford for me to be off for too long, I really want to avoid getting into any kind of debt. I'll put in for 9 but probably going back after 6/7 months. OH is thinking about cutting down his hours so we don't need childcare (since he works 2-10 anyway, he's looking to work 6-12) but we have to figure out if the loss in wages makes up for the savings on childcare- very confusing stuff! :o
