My cousin has just announced her pregnancy on fb, that will bring her up to 4 children!

She's due in Feb, so am I but I haven't told anyone in the family yet.

I'm paranoid that I'll tell everyone then have to tell them bad news after.

I had a misc this time last year - 25th Aug so that might be a dodgy day..

I dreamed my baby was a carrot last night, funny what anxiety does to you!

Got a letter in the post yesterday with an Obstetrics appointment for 5th Sept, not sure what that's for. 20 wk scan will be on 30th Sept.

Have a good long weekend all!
Aw Jox, just tell them when you are ready there's no rush :)

I would imagine you're being seen by the obstetrician because of the MC last time around.

I think having weird baby dreams is completely normal, I've been having loads of weird ones. Our minds are completely preoccupied with baby thoughts, especially at night time :)

Hi Jox, is the 5th Sept appt around 16 weeks? If so it might be the same appt I just had - meet the midwife, blood pressure, urine test, listen to heartbeat and a chance for questions.
Sorry to hear its the anniversary of your miscarriage this weekend, hope your good news helps get you through it a little easier, but allow yourself to be sad if you need to :grouphug:(hugs). Theres no reason to think you'll have bad news again with this pregnancy xx

Thanks for reassurance girls, I am a worrier anyway :)

I had the booking in last Sat where they did blood pressure, height, weight. I had blood taken and urine 10 days ago when I had the first scan (how is that 10 days already??).

Anyway, it will be another morning off work, can't complain :)

At least I have another chance at being a mum a year on from mc, lots of ladies don't have that so I'm grateful for this opportunity :)

Well I was supposed to have my scan today, partner booked time off especially for it, get there and they changed the date but forgot to send a letter  so now I'm going on Tuesday, with my dad.

Awww, Calien, that's rubbish :grouphug: At least you'll get to see your LO next week... is there any chance your OH's work will relent and let him go if they know what's happened?

How annoying Calien! Sorry your OH will have to miss seeing your LO again. :(

Hugs for it being the anniversary of your MC this weekend Jox :o

Well I'm updating from hospital as had some constant 'trickling' today (sorry for tmi) so was advised to come in. After speculum they're not sure if it's very watery discharge (tmi again) or waters so am in overnight for observation and another speculum and scan in the morning. Baby girl's heartbeat is good and I'm feeling movements so trying not to be overly concerned. Poor DH has been sent home to bed as he's awful with hospitals and is a worrier anyway.

The midwife looking after me is one I've worked with quite a bit and they asked if it was okay for her to look after me. I said yes without hesitation as she's lovely and at the end of the day we all have to trust that other professionals will act appropriately. Having said that, I'm now wondering if I should have declined because it might be weird for her.... I need to stop being such a stress head.

Going to try to sleep but fear it probably won't happen tonight :-(

Really glad the scan went well BZ. :D Your consultant's comments about birth seem really positive too, hope that's made you feel a bit better about getting MiniZee out! :)
Thanks, I do feel a bit better, but completely forgot to ask about visiting times for dad's and how much lee way they may give me with my conditions. My friend recently gave birth on the delivery suite (like I'll have to) there, and she said they do now have a water birthing pool on there as well as the birthing suites (more like home style rooms) so at least that's something. I'll have to afk her about visiting times... Seems some places are like 12 hrs, and some places only a couple of hrs twice a day...

BigZ - so pleased to hear everything went well with the scan, are you staying team yellow? and very pleased you're concerns have been addressed. I can understand you not wanting stronger painkillers than gas and air, you'll just have to talk to MiniZee and bribe them into coming out quickly lol
Yep, staying team yellow :) the scanner said at the end "now you haven't asked about the sex and I don't offer" and we confirmed that no we didn't want to know ;) I did find out that my placenta has implanted at the back though, so that'll go some way to explaining all the movements I've felt from so early, and also should mean I won't have a back to back birth (I think?) - which relieves me cos there's no way my hypersensitive nerve endings could cope with that! :p

Pain meds wise, I don't mind having codeine or a shot of diamorphine - they're what/similar to what I'm prescribed for pain in non-pg life anyway, but I'm not sure if I could be in the birthing pool if I had anything more than gas and air... Consultant thinks that 2 good ways to stem fatigue on labour it's keeping fluids up and adequate pain meds, so if I need them I'd rather take them than get to knackered to push cos I was too proud to take the pain relief. Rather that than an epidural _pale_ Don't know if I said, but she also agreed that a shorter labour would be better for me with my conditions, so hopefully baby, body and universe all agree on the day! :p

Got given loads of baby boy clothes and newborn nappies today from a friend. Loads of the babygros and vests are neutral enough for either gender, so I don't need to worry about getting any in case that's not what we get given! Tbh, we wouldn't need to get given any clothes if we had a boy, as friend is basically just passing everything on! Very MSE though :) Not sure my family would listen if I told them I didn't need anything though ;)

Picked up my free changing bag from B00ts yesterday too, and it matches perfect with the push system ;) it's getting weird how full of baby stuff my house is suddenly becoming though! Especially as I really got to a point where I actually didn't believe this day would come :)

Welcome to the newbies from the <12wk thread :D

Haven't had chance to post for a couple of days, so hope I haven't forgotten to reply to anything important :o
