Great that your scans went well Star, BigZ and MrsBunny. :)

I feel quite a bit behind most of you only being 12 weeks. I already have most of the baby stuff I need from DD2 so I don't have the excitement of all the baby buying, although I suppose I don't have the expense either. I was half thinking about getting a double buggy but I might get away with a buggy board on the pram I have. DD2 will be 2 1/2. Hmm not sure.

I have loads of girls clothes and I've told DH I know this is another girl. Can't wait to find out at the 20wk scan although I would be happy with either.

faithhope- I felt like that, this pregnancy malarky properly drags! I'm fascinated when people 'know' it's a boy or a girl, I have absolutely no idea!

MrsBunny- welcome, love to see another one over here :)

Kerri- that must be a relief about MiL, good to know you won't be crowded

Birdie- I'm doing my best to avoid looking at clothes as otherwise flutter will have far too many! My sister's already said she's saved the gender neutral/boy stuff she had for me when she gave away my niece's girly stuff.
I generally use my mum's tactic of 'ooh what's your name?' and hope to gosh that it's a gender specific one!

Mincepie- yeah i can understand that, helps to imagine them as their own little person

BigZ - so pleased to hear everything went well with the scan, are you staying team yellow? and very pleased you're concerns have been addressed. I can understand you not wanting stronger painkillers than gas and air, you'll just have to talk to MiniZee and bribe them into coming out quickly lol

AFM - to add to my list of 'weird things my body's doing' is that from my ankles down to the top of my feet i can see veins where i couldn't before. they're not sticking out like vericose veins, they're just visible. just what is the point of that?

Also DH has a couple of times spoke to my belly which is cute but he doesn't seem to want to use his usual voice! I keep saying he has to talk to the baby normally otherwise it's guna get confused about who its daddy is lol

TL - I have been able to see veins in my ankles for ages even before pregnancy and I'm a small size 8, I think it's to do with the hotter weather as can't remember seeing them in winter as much.

I've just bought Ewan the sheep for baby from looking on the pregnancy thread :D

I've had a terrible nights sleep, OH woke me at 3am to ask if he could put the light on and read!!! He's not sleeping very well as his probation in the new job was extended by a month yesterday, he needs to find a new job they're treating him terribly for someone that's a new graduate. They're throwing too much work at him, expecting him to know it all and not training him it's atrocious.

Anyway, that had me awake for the next hour then as I needed to pee and had a really bad pain where I suppose my right kidney is (thinking muscular rather than sinister). Still have it now and am totally tired :( Was meant to go into the office today for my 1 day not working from home, but the woman I'm meetings mother has passed away so I'm not having a wasted trip in a state where I probably shouldn't drive.

Has anyone started thinking about the birth yet? Where they'll go, what meds they'll take if any?

HI a long term lurker on this thread but been a bit nervous to post.

I am 18 wks today, due Jan next year with my second.

I am really interested in having a different birth to last time, I had lots of drugs and medical intervention and eventually after a long time I had a intervention labour.

This time I want to try to go as natural as possible, our hositpal has a birhting centre newly built so I would ideally like to try and go there so no option of drugs but in the same building as the normal birthdya area in case there are any complicaitons.

I am really interest in hyno birthing and aromatherpy but not sure where to start researching it. I am in the south east isf anyone has any recommendations?

I'm booked onto a hypnobirthing course, from what I've seen on utube and read on the net it's all about empowering the woman and trying to ease the fear of pregnancy. It seems they promote that we try to remain as calm as possible, that yes it might hurt, but we are more than capable of doing it. Lots of breathing techniques and visualizations and trying to reduce the tension associated with fear.
I know I'm going to be trying to get something large through something small, so it will likely hurt, but I want to remain as calm and collected about it as possible so hoping the course will give me the tools to do so.
I found the course from searching online, tend to be about £250 - £300 and book around 25 weeks. There are books and cd's you can buy if you don't want to do the course though. Look for one that's at least 12.5hrs.

Welcome and congratulations by the way :)

Congratulations Becca, it's such a relief to get past the first scan isn't it!

I'm 15 weeks today and no symptoms really, I forget sometimes that I'm pg, but my lower back is a bit painful, not sure what that's all about. I feel a bit nauseous when I don't eat every few hours as well.

Not told many people or work yet, I'll keep them guessing a bit longer!

Worrying a bit about living in a one-bed flat, was looking at houses on rightmove last night, I can dream!

I've been to 2 yoga classes recently, the teacher is fantastic, she has a pregnancy video on her website.

my DD2 will be 2 years old (just) when bump arrives I bought a second hand phil and ted with the toddler seat and i have a stroller. MIght keep my eyes open for a buggy board too. I sold all DD2's newborn and 0-3 clothes so i get to do some shopping :)
Just take each day as it comes. :)
    Bump due 18th January :j
