  • I have found bright colours are quite hard to find. I have 2 girls and i am not a fan of pink they have very little pink quite a lot of purple and lilac. Blue however I have never really had the opportunity to do the whole blue thing so maybe i would? not sure

I am going to buy a suit of ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170542766706?var=470008229482&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

and buy white with the writing saying baby and my surname then when i post the baby pic on facebook i am going to get people to guess whether it is a boy or girl and how much it weighs etc. I am a tease :)

Star - I have only bought 1 baby grow and the nursery is being painted a very neutral daffodil white. We're not having anything girly even though she's a girl, OH and I both believe in neutrals. For me it's more because our daughter is likely to turn out with red hair and hazel eyes like her mother, to spite her father, and putting her in anything pink would just be cruel when she looks back at the photos.

All was fine at the scan :D everything looks perfect apparently. :D The picture she captured is shocking though, compared to the previous ones. I think bubs got bored of posing ;)

Consultant seemed supportive about helping with my conditions and trying a (short as possible) natural/water both where possible, but we both conceded that I have limitations which may change things etc and she agrees that she would have concerns about my recovery from a c section, too. She would advocate making site I get enough fluids and pain medication, to help with the fatigue, so maybe I shouldn't strive for just gas & air :o:p I've been referred preemptively to physio and an anaesthetist, for just in case.

Took forever though! We were there for 3 hours in the end!

When we got home, our neighbour had a massive box for us that had been delivered while we were out...our pram system's arrived! A day early, I only ordered it monday.

Glad things went well for star and kerri today. :)

    20wks today - half way!

  • Birdie I wouldn't bank on that with the clothes - DD had a pink snowsuit which a friend bought her and quite a few times whilst she was wearing it, I was asked "What did you have?" or "What is it?" If I can't tell gender I normally ask "What name did you go for?" and hope it's obvious from that :o

We recently told our elderly neighbour we were expecting again, and he said "I'll keep my fingers crossed it's a boy" Good job he's lovely or I'd have gotten really cross. As it was I just made some lame joke about already having all the things for a girl so we don't mind!

Star so pleased to hear your news.

TL I totally get what you mean about not adhering to gender stereotypes: I suppose before the baby arrives it's the only thing you "know" about them (not that it's 100% of course!) so it becomes the most important. Once they're born you know who they look like, if they're greedy, whether they sleep well etc so it becomes less important and by the time they're 2 or 3 it's almost an irrelevance. That's the way it was for me, anyway.

Am off to see the midwife at 11.30 and working from home this morning beforehand. Was talking late last night with hubby re budget for new family car, do we go for his first choice or save and choose something a bit more economical? Sometimes being a grown up is tricky!
Enjoying the chats re nursery choices and gender stuff... Really interesting. I also have Views! Hate going into shops and seeing clothes divided into pink and blue! Thanks for the recommendation for bluezoo. We've bought some good non-pink for nieces from TU at sainsburys in the past too.
Glad for your good appointments yesterday and welcome Mrs Bunny x

Really glad the scan went well BZ. :D Your consultant's comments about birth seem really positive too, hope that's made you feel a bit better about getting MiniZee out! :)

Really glad that you've managed to get rid of the MIL Kerri! :)

    Welcome MrsBunny!

Thanks for the Bluezoo recommendation, some really cute stuff! :) Trying to hold of buying anything for another month but it's so hard to resist! :o
