Morning all,
Was wondering if anyone has experience of buying a pram second hand from eBay?
The one I like is only in black and blue in store but I have seen some pretty patterned ones on eBay. I haven't ever bought from eBay before (although my family does a lot) and I'm not really sure what to look out for. Any advice please???
Thanks0 -

I've never sold a pram on ebay, but have sold several of Pre-Loved and Gumtree.
I always expect the buyer to have a good look when they come over and collect it and I always make sure I show them how it all works. I've never had anyone say they didn't want it after viewing but I expect that's because I am as honest as possible when I post the advert.
Also, if you agree on a price before you go and collect, don't try and haggle a bit more when you get there. It's very annoying as many sellers will have had more than 1 person wanting to buy it at the price they list/agree on!
Make sure ones you look at have lots of pictures and list any damage or marks. Also, remember that second-hand means used. You wouldn't believe the number of people who think they will be getting a new product for a fraction of the price.
Good luck. It's a great way to save money and I've given away some bargains over the last few years.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Poppy - Lilymay has already given some great advise; there's really no reason not to buy second hand/ from ebay etc. You will probably find you get a lot more for your money! With a pram I would make sure it wasn't too far to travel too so you can view it first. Good luck x
Flower - Carrier wise I only have experience of an R&R. I loved it, very comfy and supportive for baby. There's loads out there but I would be tempted to have baby facing you, either on your front or back (when they are older) and like Lola said their legs in an M shape as if they are straight down its terrible for their hips/ etc
Labour vibes to Snozberry! x
Angel I have been crying everyday! A mixture of happy/ sad tears!! My son keeps saying really sweet things to me which sets me off LOL!Trying to save for a deposit

Flower - my husband was in the Marines until last year and now does maritime security so my dates are ALWAYS spot on as hes always away! I'm also a 28 day cycle, ov after 12 days woman with no surprises ever so knew my dates were correct each time despite the baby measurements. I was 20 with my first so just did as I was told. With my second I was 27 so argued back lol. Scary though that they would've let me go 12 days further before inducing me, just thank god that I went into labour naturally when I did. XxDD1 June 1997

Hi everyone, apologies for going a little off topic here... but do you ever have one of those days at work where you just think - It's fine, I'll go home and ignore all this and put my feet up with a large glass of wine and forget about it............ and then realise that you can't have the large glass of wine anymore
I haven't been bothered at all by the lack of drink, however the taste of wine being off was my first indication 'something was up'
Has anyone found any suitable alternatives, or do I sound like I have a problem
p.s. Poppy27 - I bought a second hand pram, not from Ebay but from a work advertising service (advertising for a friend). They came and showed me the pram, how to put it up and put it down - let me 'have a go' of it and then we talked prices.
If you are getting one from Ebay, definitely look closely at all of the pictures and read the description carefully. If there is some time left on it, contact the seller and ask if you can come round to view it before making a bid but express that you are interested. Would be good to test drive an equivelent version in a shop first so you know what kind of thing to look out for on Ebay.
Then also check that what they're selling is actually good value for a second hand pram
I've never bought a pram off Ebay but I have bought (too many) other things and sold a good fair few too.
I agree with not trying to haggle the price at all after winning, what you bid is your final bid and what you should pay.0 -
BabaMoose - at least once a week at work I fancy coming home and having a drink lol. Have abstained completely but was missing Pimms. My cousin recommended schweppes summer punch (in the fizzy aisle & currently £1 for 2ltrs in Tesco) and I have mint, strawberries and cucumber to put in it! I can't tell the difference. :-) xDD1 June 1997

I've bought and sold many pushchairs via ebay and never had any issue other than 1 occasion where the moron couriers smashed the hinge on the frame of one I think so long as you are watchful of the feedback and know what you want and are looking for go for it. Most of the sellers on there now are businesses so you have very little to worry about it is no different to buying from any online shopLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Toothfairy and Pigpen, hand, foot and mouth was my conclusion by the end of yesterday too so took him to the docs after work today. Anyway the doctor I saw although very pleasant spouted the biggest pile of nonsense at me. He says rashes are just "your body's constitution trying to get rid of bad stuff" and viruses are just "basically bad stuff coming out". No attempt at a diagnosis just prescribed sulphur tablets to help his immune system "clear it all out"
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Biology teacher, I know viruses can't really be treated with meds, I just wanted advice on what to put on his feet- powder to dry or cream to moisturise. Still convinced its hand, foot and mouth but now also certain we should change doctors asap lol.
So anyway, past few days we've been putting baby powder on his feet to help reduce sweatiness, seems to be helping so will continue.
Meanwhile baby is getting more wriggly by the dayAnd my bump is very obvious
I think anything that helps him is fine.. nothing with clear it up any quicker than it will go anyway so if it gives him relief use it, so long as it isn't harmful.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi there - another one in favour of prams from ebay here. Last time I got a M&P pliko pramette (which was exactly what I was after) for £25, great condition and a complete bargain. I then got a McClaren quest buggy for £15 - as described, it wasn't perfect, but it's done a great job for the past 2 years, so I'm not complaining.
This time we've bought a double pram/pushchair/travel system for £100, which I'm hoping will be just as much of a bargain.
I think I'm just really tightfisted and can't bring myself to spend £100s (in the double pushchair case, potentially over £1000!) on a pushchair/pram I'll only use for a year or two. Most second-hand prams are in good condition for this very reason, unless they've been taken off-road or completely worn out (I did plenty of walking with mine and it's still in decent condition).0 -
