fluffysox, i would take him to the docs but it sounds like hand, foot and mouth disease? Lots of small kids get it.
Congrats maire on the healthy scan and possible team pink!

I'd probably get one then just in case, but I'm only going to be 20 weeks when I fly so I'm okay. Fingers crossed the GP doesn't charge you too much.
I literally just flew Easyjet at 28/29 weeks and although they didn't ask for anything at Gatwick, I was asked for a 'Fit to Fly' letter on the way back home, which luckily I had requested from my Dr.They even took a copy of it at the airport in Greece.
The Dr said it needed to be done as close to the date I was flying as possible as she needed to base it on my most recent blood pressure readings etc to declare me fit to fly. It cost me £14.50 and I picked it up 2 days before I flew.
I have absolutely no idea what they would have done had I not had it? Not leave me stranded in Greece hopefully  But was glad i'd bothered to do it!0 -
Congratulations on all the happy scans ladies, I'm slightly jealous of those finding out the gender even though I'm glad we're keeping it for a surprise when they get here it would be nice to choose a name and some cute clothes!
Baby has been kicking like crazy all morning here, the most kicks I've felt since the beginning - sooooooo lovely.
Envious of all of you heading off on holiday soon, trying to persuade OH we should get away even if it's only for a few nights but I'm not sure if budgeting will allow. Am I daft to consider camping in the third trimester?
Abi - the pregnancy hormones can be really tough to deal with eh? I find myself tearing up at stupid things and have lost all my rationality - you're not alone!
Also I have had a visit from the bump fairy - might finally be getting past the stage of looking like I've eaten too many doughnuts and like there might be a baby in there! it's taken it's time though - 22 weeks today!0 -
Re: MatB1 I asked at 21 weeks (second attempt at 20 week scan) and they said the usually give out around 25 weeks. I just said that we are supposed to hand them to employers by 25 weeks and my next MW appt isn't til 28 weeks? So anyway one of the midwives did it there and then. So basically- make sure you ask for it
Thanks for all the well wishes for my little boy x No more spots today and they are none on his torso so I don't think its chickenpoxAlso he has been much happier today. Nevertheless need to make a GP appt for him to see what it is. All round his toes the skin is red raw. Took him last week and doc said athletes foot. Gave us cream but he screams when you touch his toes never mind rub the cream in and after a week they're no better. So have now given up on the cream and I'm putting baby powder on which he rubs in himself. That combined with the worst of the spots being on his hands, feet, wrists and ankles with a few round his mouth make me wonder if its all connected?
It is probably hand foot and mouth.. highly contagious but you are probably immune so nothing to worry about. calpol for temp and it goes in about a week.. then the skin peels off.
The spots feel like pin pricks when they are touched so I can understand him not wanting you to rub cream in.. try an after sun spray with aloe vera.. soothing and cooling.
cool baths seem to be the best thing for it tbh.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all,
24 weeks here today
Scan went well on Monday although i didn't particularly like the lady who done the scan - very slap dash. All the measurements are fine - baby measuring 'average'
However lil b*gga didn't want pic taken - buried its face in my uterus :rotfl:
Saw more kicks on the surface last night - bean is getting stronger & hubby managed to see :T such a strange & fascinating experience
Will keep lurking but now off to the next thread
Congrats on all the recent scans & good luck for all the future scan0 -
Glad all's well nessie
Woke up with a little hard lump sticking out of my tummy - guessing it was baby's bum! Already trying to moon me lol! Had a little wiggle and felt a big kick with my hand - lovely stuff! Still no real pattern to it but baby seems to move more once I've eaten and if I'm lying down.0 -

I think i already have a bit of a routine - bean normally is awake by 9/10amWeirdly i don't think they are awake when i go to bed at 8/9/10pm
Definately knows when i have drunk or eaten enything cold!
Doesn't like travellling either - 3 hour journey & i wasn't very well at all
Tuesday night bean didn't like what i had eaten for tea! First time i have actually been sick whilst pregnant - strange!0 -
Most airlines will carry you up to 28 weeks if you have a fit to fly form. I wrote to my go and then picked it up. If you are big it makes sense to have one earlier as its cabin crews discretion. Sme airlines allow up to due date, with insurance and fit to fly0

If you feel comfortable talking to your employer about part time options, I would def do it before going off. At least you will know if it's a possibility even if not a certainty. If it's a no, don't rule it out altogether as you still then have the option to discuss at a later time.
E bay maternity jeans arrived & they are good considering the price.
Also bought a maxi dress from John Rocha at Debenhams. It's not maternity but a good fit. Hoping it's still a good fit when I have a wedding to go to in 6 weeks.
I'm feeling regular movement & stretching. Bump expanding & work trousers are tight.
Work is busier than I'd like it to be - days are going quick (although spending too long there). Doing some stuff which I would usually be stressed about - but managing to remain calm.
Off to Amsterdam next weekend - no cake for me.
Going to see Robbie Williams in Manchester - fortunately we have reserved seats. Don't think I would have been going if we didn't.
Still not bought anything - someone at work asked me if I had packed a hospital bag yet ??????

They have changed the rules where I am. I went to see the mw today and they don't listen to the hb until 28 weeks as 17 weeks is quite early and if they can't find the hb they have to refer you to the hospital so to play it safe they don't listen at all unless there has been bleeding or something else untoward.
She also said she will give me my MATB1 at the next appointment at 28 weeks unless I need it sooner and I can pop in a written request. Its different from my 1st as they saw you more often, but if its your 2nd or 3rd etc they don't bother seeing you as much.
I'm pretty sure I can feel the baby kickingGot married 13/11/10
