I managed to tell my boss and he was lovely about it :) He said he will keep it quiet if I want him to and let me tell colleagues in my own time. I have a desk job, so nothing too strenuous.

Congrats on team blue babamoose! My OH wants a boy. I don't mind either way as long as it's happy and healthy.

Congrats on the team blue ladies :)

Just got back from my 16 week appointment, where they found a heartbeat very quickly- sounded like a fast train! It's the first time I've heard it, wish dh was there to hear it too :( anyways, it was wonderful to hear it after all that stress last week.

Thats great you got to hear the heartbeat. Is that apart of the normal 16 week mw apt? I have booked mine and just thought they took a wee sample. I didn't know they listened to the heartbeat. All excited now :)
They say they saw the heartbeat at the scan, but we didn't get to listen to it :(

I was going to ask but she just did it! I reckon it's worth asking- it sounded wonderful. They tested my blood pressure and my urine sample. She also asked about any movements and checked my downs syndrome screening letter. 10 mins in there. X

Don't know if anyone was planning on buying a cot from Ikea but their cheap (£45) ones are currently reduced to £30 at Ikea Warrington. They look pretty sturdy to me.

Baby is starting to kick a bit now. I can't see my stomach moving (there's a lot of padding) but I can definitely feel it. I also need to find some pliers: I had my belly button pierced about 15 years ago and I've never taken it out, and can't undo the belly bar for love nor money! whoops :D

Have read on here some ladies have been disappointed as not all midwives will listen for heartbeat at 16 weeks. Mine did tho. I think they're worried in case they can't find it as obviously that would be traumatic for the pregnant lady and doesn't mean there is anything wrong.

In other news it looks like my little boy has chickenpox. Been poorly and depriving us of sleep for 3 days so far and a few spots/ sores today. All we need lol!
