    20 week scan today

Baby was fine although in an awkward position & even after moving & prodding they were unable to check the heart & face. So I am booked in for another scan in 3 weeks. They said it's nothing to worry about - but can't help being a little concerned.

    .

I had exactly the same happen to me a couple of weeks ago TTC. Baby was lying scrunched up face down with it's hands over it's face!! Couldn't check the face or heart. I was gutted and cried because I had just wanted to be able to say we had the all clear but having the next scan next Thursday and starting to get excited about seeing baby again now and hopefully we will get a good picture! So hugs to you because I know how you feel but I'm sure it will be fine for all of us with cheeky hiding babies :)

Hope eevryone has had a good day in the sun? Haven't read back properly yet just popping in quickly while Tayor all-my-songs-sound-the-same Swift and Ed Sheeran are on BGT.

Well my cravings thought it would be a good idea to eat a whole butterscotch Angel Delight. My stomach disagrees!

    Hugs to all xx

Going to be another lovely sunny day! Have friends coming over for a BBQ, really looking forward to it. Knackered myself yesterday scrubbing the house from top to bottom, building the bbq, ironing - dont think i sat down until about 9pm :( now have a sore lower back/hips which has been happening anyhow but i think i've made it worse.

Hi all, hope you're all well. Have a fab BBQ today toothfairy. Yum to butterscotch angel delight hopelass. Might have to walk to the shop to get me some of that! I'm not really having cravings anymore. Gone right off crisps after eating 2 bags a day for the first 12 weeks! Just eating lots!
Feeling movement and a few kicks this week - what a wonderful feeling :D. People have been commenting that I've popped too x

Cloudy at the moment in South Yorkshire.

Need to get some bedding plants in today - can't believe I haven't done any yet.

Having spent time with midwife cousin yesterday, she asked if baby was being squashed as I am still wearning normal jeans. I'm confident I'm not, but it did make me think about ordering some stuff.

Ordered some jeans/ trousers from Next & these from e bay.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120743104768?var=420142256721&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

    Hopefully they will be OK.

I'm still a few pounds lighter than when I got pg, but as I'm overweight to start this can only be a good thing.

I'm off to an all day wedding in about 6 weeks & keep having panics about what to wear. I have a couple of things I could wear if I don't change much - but this isn't likely. Being large & tall, adding a pregnancy bump makes me feel even more like an elephant!

    Morning ladies!

I find it so hard to keep up with this thread at the mo - think its just cos I am quite busy in real life, and I read it on my phone mostly and find it a lot harder to reply to anything on my phone.

Glad the scan went ok COMP and TTC40 - try not to worry about the position thing. I think we worry no matter what tho. Our baby didn't move at all in the 12 week scan which was good for the measurements, but having had a mmc last year it worried me about the stillness on screen. I could see the heart beating - but a little movement would have been nice too, lol!!! I can feel it now, which is soooo lovely :T

Welcome optimistic mummy and any other newbies I have missed.

I bought some more maternity gear yesterday as I was out of town so managed to try a few things on. The sizes are really weird on some things tho. I tried on some size 18 shorts and they were loads too tight, but yet I ended up buying a size 12 dress that fits lovely - and its not even a stretchy material type one its cotton. I keep thinking I will buy some bundles from ebay, but the difference in sizes is really putting me off cos I could just imagine more than half of the bundle not fitting.

At least I finally have some maternity leggings - both long ones and shorter ones. I got changed in to them in the shop and boy what a difference!! I couldn't even feel I had them on :D

TTC - I had a low lying placenta with DD, and by the time of the next scan it had moved position so wasn't in the way at all. Its good that they check it all out for you. The midwife said something like 80% of women who have it find that it corrects itself as the womb grows. I managed a natural birth without any problems. I didn't realise you were in Yorkshire too - I bet I'm not all that far from you

Thank you for all the lovely comments about the baby bump I painted. You ladies are gonna get fed up with pics tho - heres another one I did on Friday :D

At least I am on topic with baby bumps tho :rotfl: I'm really proud of my lil selfies tho, and it seems to be taking off really nicely too. Very pleased with how the business is going overall too - in the next couple of weeks I should have a new logo, website & business cards. Its so exciting!!

Me and DH took my nephew out for the day yesterday. Its the first time I have had him for the full day (hes just over 2) and it was sooooo good! DH has been a bit worried about if we have a boy in case he isn't a good dad (he doesn't like football and doesn't class himself as very manly so he worries about being a good role model). He is super super excellent with my DD, and I try to reassure him that he will be the bestest dad ever - but its his first baby so I think he has all the nerves about that :o Anyways, we all had a really super day yesterday, and my nephew kept going to DH to get picked up and hold his hand, so it gave DH a lot of confidence. We went to a train museum, which isn't my kind of thing normally, but my nephew loved it!! He kept running saying 'wow, choo choo! choo choo - wow!" :rotfl:

Hope you are enjoying your weekend

TTC40 - I had a friends wedding to go to when I was just over 34 weeks and I stressed over what to wear as I'm overweight and tall and have a large bump now!

I ended up wearing a plain maxi dress and just put bright accessories with it - I found New Look had nice maternity wear
New first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!

  • abis we couldn't get sick of thsoe pics they are fab!

I ordered some maternity dresses from Asos - OMG they were awful. They fit but didn't look nice. I've decided to order some dresses from Yumi that are normal but one or two sizes bigger. Found a nice bigger size top in Oasis too. I went to topshop and there was a lovely cream lace maternity dress for £30 - I didn't try it on but I was very impressed. I can't believe how quickly I got tired walking round the shops - must be pregnancy! 23+2

I ordered a skirt from asos. I'm 5ft9, so not small, and it was so long on me, even though it showed as knee length on the 5ft10 model. Not impressed.
I also had some fab new look under the bump jeans, which I'm living in, and a swimming costume, which is lovely from asos.

I've bought most of my maternity clothes second hand from eBay - I got 2 red herring maternity dresses and they fit really nicely but with room to expand (I'm 19+1).

Next maternity tops are still too big for me to wear, but the new look tops fit really nicely now, but whether they will in a few months I'm not convinced as they don't seem to have enough room to last me till the end - might sell those when they don't fit anymore and buy again more in a larger size as they do wash nicely and don't need any/if much ironing.

Second 20 week scan today - bean was being a b*gga last time & couldn't get all measurements - lets see what happens today!

Actually saw bean kicking on Saturday - really amazed as im very overweight & thought i wouldn't be able to see anything until really close to due date - shame DH missed it though!

I've started wearing maxi dresses now as i have 'popped' and defo starting to look pregnant - although get days that i still just feel fat

Brought my maxi dresses from Asda, & eBay - i find just getting a size or 2 up is better than spending a fortune on maternity clothes - also brought some bras from eBay too - if they don't fit i will just relist them! Hard to find any bra's in my size range :-(
