I'd eat it too! But then I'm quite laid back. I had sushi last week- I'm so naughty!! I did check that it was frozen to kill bugs before I get bombarded!

My rationale would be it's frozen so any bugs would be killed and as long as its cooked well it'll be fine

Ahh i see! I think its recommended to avoid it then unless you can be sure it is cooked thoroughly. I hope they have some other scrummy food for you to choose from :D

Lola, i am a bit of a 'rule bender' also lol. Obviously follow advice when theres a definite risk such as alcohol, smoking etc etc. Funny how people feel free to comment on choices when your pregnant though...

Have recently has ppl at work interrogate me when i said i was going to get my hair dyed (asked midwife and he said theres no confirmed risk) i have blonde highlights and do not want to have 5 inch dark roots by October!!

Also had someone react with shock at me eating mayonnaise - i explained to them as it was store bought and therefore made with pasteurised eggs etc so no risk, they were adamant i shouldn't be eating it and started questioning what other things i was/wasnt allowed to have. So irritating!!

Toothfairy - I have the opposite problem in that older members of OH's family seem to get the right hump when I can't have something! His granny got all cross when we were talking about not eating liver, saying she ate loads cos it's good for you and her kids were fine! Can't win either way!! :rotfl:

Nessie your scan pic is lovely! Such a nice clear pic!
hugs to those waiting for 20 week scans - you'll get there honest!

I do hope so - mine is exactly 2 weeks today and I am SO impatient! Time is going extra slow is seems!

I think ive definitely started to have some feelings, they feel more like bubbles popping, being flicked from inside? If that makes any sense? And for some reason it happens a lot when im sitting on a computer chair at my desk, perhaps shes squashed :) hopefully its not wind and little kicks.

I have the same feelings, like little popping sensations, or being flicked with an elastic band, from the inside. Especially when sitting at my desk all day, or at the dinner table. Hope he/she is ok in there!

    Hi again everyone.

Well what a night last night at antenatal class...It was from 7 - 9.30pm and I think poor hubby was shell shocked, lol.

They had us ladies on the floor rocking from side to side, kneeling on all fours rocking from side to side to give an idea of what you should do when having contractions. Besides from that we discussed what to pack in your hospital bag and talked about what happens in labour stages.

I enjoyed it, bit over welming at times, but all information obviously we needed to know.

Besides that my school has advertised my maternity cover from Sept, which just looks really weird to see and makes it even more real if that makes sense.

Might put some people off though as we have 3 vacancies from Sept all maternity leave. They might wonder what on earth happens at my work, hahaha.

We're going to be using disposable nappies, can't face the thought of creating more washing and I know what I'm doing with disposable as I practiced on my nephews many years ago lol. Dh on the other hand is going to have a shock he's never changed a nappy in his life lol.

We're definitely planning on formula feeding , it probably sounds selfish to a lot of people but I want to know that once baby is here we can get used to looking after them - I don't want to put my body through more than I have to or feel stressed/upset if breast feeding is difficult/ painful, I want to be happy in the thought that we can enjoy being parents from day one. I think as well knowing that some ladies in my family suffered with PND I want to make sure that I don't put too much (in my Opinion) unnecessary pressure on myself in those early days. Most people I know were FF and have turned out fine (including myself) so it's not like its the end of the world, they'll still be fed and looked after which is the main thing and if we're happy parents hopefully it mean a happy baby too :) it is obviously an amazing thing for a woman to breast feed, but, it isn't for everyone as if it was formula would never have been invented!

Lovely scan pic nessie! Looks like he/she is sucking their thumb!

Ive been looking at reusuable nappies as well, I admit now ive never changed a nappy in my life! :) but I ideally would want to use reusables but I have bought a box of size 1 and size 2 disposable so we can use at night or when we are out. My family have just laughed at me and asked why make extra work for myself! But ive been reading up and the saving plus they really do work for some poeple is enough for me to give it a go anyway... perhaps im just a naive mum to be though... :) but ill give it a go

Anyone else who is looking into reusuables it might be worth looking at your local council. My council is offering a £100 voucher as an incentive really, you need to buy the nappies/accessories first, and then they will refund up to £100!

Ill be using disposables, although I have thought about moving to reusables when baby is older as ive heard it can be easier potty training as they are more aware of the wet sensation than with disposables, not sure how true this is though?

With my other two I have breastfed successfully for the first few weeks and then combined breast and bottle, it really is a case of finding what suits you best. I was lucky in that my boys latched on easily and I produced lots of milk, so found it so much easier at night not having to make up formula. My auntie on the other hand had terrible difficulty, which made both her and baby stressed.

I definitely feel baby move now, sometimes its a popping or sometimes it feels like he/she is bouncing on my bladder! I also feel it more when sitting or lying down.
