  • my 19 week bumpette - have had a few people ask me in the last week if I'm pregnant so it must be getting more bump like. The over-bump jeans hide it a bit more. C'mon more bump piccies please.

I gave my DH a major nagging session last night. (not my first attempt recently so stepped up a notch) Basically he has been spending too much time playing a computer game, including til very late at night so he is very tired the next day. This means at weekends he is not helping maintain the home, playing much with DS or giving me a rest. Then I went to bed and had a nightmare where I went to hospital to have the new baby and realised i hadn't got out the Moses basket, never mind washed the fabrics. Then i remembered i hadn't prepared anything else either, not even a babygrow lol.
I think this all comes from frustration that the sorting out / preparation is not happening on schedule because DH hasn't been helping enough.
Anyway he obviously listened because this morning I had a lie-in and came down to all dishes done and hob cleaned. No computer gaming last night, he had an early night. I'm sure more reminders will be needed but hopefully he is starting to remember that I am pregnant and need him to look after DS and me more.

How far along were you when you got big purchases (pushchair, car seat, cot etc), or how far along are you planning to be before you get things like that? We haven't bought anything yet, only have the few free samples we've got in a box and vouchers in a folder. Have started to clear out the spare room ready for it being decorated to become the nursery but there's still an awful lot of stuff in there that needs to go!

We got DS pram and car seat at about 32 weeks I seem to remember. His nursery furniture didn't arrive until about a week before he was born because it was out of stock.
Dont really need to buy anything big this time as we already have it all, just need to clear all the junk out the spare room to convert it into DS's new bedroom.

I can't wait to be able to buy and wear pretty bras though. I haven't seen any pretty looking nursing bras yet :(

M&S nursing bras come in pretty pink and blue. Not exactly Ann Summers lingerie but nicer than massive white granny bras!

Had my 16 week appointment today (I am 17 weeks today) and heard baby's heartbeat, lovely and strong! V happy :D

Got rushed in and out though, no time to ask any questions. Never mind.

Feeling bit better nowadays, the sickness has subsided and I'm getting my evenings back again. Even managed a long lie-in on Sunday!

Bought an Avent microwave steriliser at the weekend and it just about fits in my microwave (annoying as it's labelled to be a 'compact' one!) Does anyone know if it matters if the steriliser touches the sides of the microwave?? Thanks :o

Thank you to everyone that responded to my post about maternity bras. The shop in Cheshire sounds lovely but we're in sleepy Suffolk. :-( think ill find a range with good reviews then get measured there. Will probably try a couple of different types to see which I find more comfy day to day. Thanks again; appreciate the info. Xx

    Hello from another Suffolk dweller!

I keep hearing M&S do good bras - they do the fitting service too - might be worth having a look?

Can't remember who it was who's PIL's are giving up smoking - but after a heart to heart with my mum - her & stepdad are giving up as from today as mum doesn't want any excuses not to see her grandchild!

Feeling fatter and fatter each day now! But it's definately becoming obvious that i am preggers & not just fat!

    20 Week scan next Monday

    19+4

My friend had terrible trouble with the M&S nursing bras. Apparently the clips kept coming unfastened (and she's not exactly large chested). I've currently bought a couple of multi-packs of t-shirt bras in the appropriate larger size from Asda and Matalan. I don't want to spend a fortune just yet in case they grow again. I have stuck with wired though (although my sports bra is non wired) because I find I don't get enough support with non wired (now a DD).

Is anyone else finding that they are REALLY hungry? The other day I was horrified by just how much I was eating. Just to be clear, I'm not filling up on junk. For breakfast I'm generaly having porridge or three / four (seriously!) slices of toast and then I'm hungry again when I get to the office two hours later.

17+4 (but 18+2 based on scan measurements)

Yes! I basically have two breakfasts and two lunches at the moment! Trying to make sure it's a nice range of healthy food (with the occasional bag of crisps thrown in for the cravings!) But I'm ravenous at the mo - especially when I haven't slept well! feel like a right piggy :rotfl: But hey that's a perk of pregnancy I suppose
