Hi all, hope everyone has had a good weekend.
We've been away at my in-laws most of the weekend, been car hunting for a 2nd car for DH to use for work, not found anything yet though. So very tired today and not looking forward to a busy week at work (or getting up at 4.30am to take DH to work 3 days this week!)
On a more positive note, we got our travel system today, so that's the car seat and pram sorted!! Can't wait to get it out the box and start playing..I mean practicing...how to put it up and down! Everytime we go to my in-laws, I now make DH take a trip to toy'r'us, the closest one to us is 2.5hrs away but its only 20 mins from the in-laws, so it's nice to go for a look!
I've been feeling lots more movement and kicking this week, though DH still can't feel anything. Was lying in bed this morning and could see my tummy move when baby kicked, so awesome!0 -
Can't wait to feel movements, but I'm only 15+1 so I guess it could be a while yet particularly as its my first.
I usually get myself measured at m&s though quite often you do need an appointment. I've been in non wired bras since about 9 weeks as although I hadn't fully gone up a size I was just so uncomfortable. I have 2 hideous bras but they're so comfortable I don't care and Dh wouldn't comment as he's not stupid lol.
I have been feeling a lot better, but worn out now I think as we've got a lot done the last few days - been to the theatre, ordered a new sofa, got half of the living room painted, and safety locks put on the rest of the conservatory windows (we have house cats and means we can have the windows open but not enough for them to escape out of), and sorted all my clothes out to make room for maternity stuff, and last night went to a friends wedding evening do which was niceso tonight's plan is have a bath and watch tv, Dh is on night shift so I can watch what I want!

Hi everyone, been great reading the updates.
I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and yet to feel a proper movement. My placenta is at the top, saw someone else had mentioned this as well. The lady who did the scan last week said it might be a few more weeks before I feel a definite movement due to this, which I could see why when we had the scan as we saw baby open it's mouth and take it's hand to it's chin and I felt zilch.
The only things I do get are the occasional twinge in my sides like a muscle spasm I guess, which might be baby moving but doesn't feel like it.
We've had loads of people try to guess baby's sex now (we know ourselves but aren't tell anyone). People are guessing based on my bump or have been studying the recent scan photos in depth and my mother in law got us some light blue 3-6 mth trousers (as well as other items) which made my sister think she knew we were having a boy.
Wanted to say thanks for the info re bras that someone posted. I have always been an underwire person but don't think I can last much longer. I have bra extenders on at the moment but definitely need more comfort.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
In terms of movement, I think I've been feeling quite a bit today - unless of course it's wind and why I'm not feeling great!0

Continualdiamond the first movements I felt were like muscle twinges in my tummy - almost like when you have a muscle twitching! I didn't know what it was at first (this being my first) but they have become more like proper movements over the past couple of weeks.0

Thank you to everyone that responded to my post about maternity bras. The shop in Cheshire sounds lovely but we're in sleepy Suffolk. :-( think ill find a range with good reviews then get measured there. Will probably try a couple of different types to see which I find more comfy day to day. Thanks again; appreciate the info. XxDD1 June 1997

I'm 21+5 and i just look podgy. Its a bit annoying now, want a proper bump!
Lots of movement which is nice, baby has located my bladder which isn't so fun
Umpteen packets of baby wipes arrived, started stocking up on nappies now using valued opinions vouchers. I box of size 1's purchased, next purchase will be size 2's and so on.
Bottles arrived so thats another thing sorted.
Need to find a nice new bed for my almost 4 year old, his cot bed can then be put back to a cot (will buy a new mattress) and that should be all the big things purchased.0 -
nikki2804 don't buy too many of one brand as I know loads of mums who bought all one brand and were gutted when they leaked. I found Huggies were rubbish on DD when she was newborn, Pampers were okay and the Nature baby eco ones were fab albeit a bit crispy. I had a few free newborn packets from various offers.
Also don't get too many of each size my friend ended up selling 200 newborn nappies on gumtree- I did warn her!!Got married 13/11/10

Re: Nappies if you are stocking up to use vouchers make sure you don't open all the boxes. My DS needed size 2 almost immediately as he was born 9lb 10. If boxes are unopened the supermarkets will let you exchange for a bigger size. We didn't really like Huggies, Pampers seemed a better fit but I would make the most of any vouchers regardless. (Just bought smaller packs with Huggies vouchers
) Pampers do send lots of vouchers in the first year if you sign up on their website. And Asda don't care how many you use at once. (e.g. can use 4 vouchers and only buy one box)
