Aww I think it's so unfair some of you don't get to listen to the heartbeat. My midwife specifically told my OH to turn up to it because it was the nest one! It was really cool to hear it and know it was still in there.

We have another scan today, I've had words with the baby and it knows to perform correctly, legs out, bladder and kidneys visible.

I'm looking quite bumpy today - I should take a photo to remember what I look like. I usually love having my photo taken but I just feel so fat. Woe is me ;)

Good luck in shopping and scans ladies!

    Afternoon everyone :)

Welcome to all the newbies and glad the scans went well :)

I'm getting a lot of pain in my hips and groin area it's really uncomfortable especially when I'm pushing ds in his buggy, hope it will pass I'm only 21+3 I'm at work tomorrow so ill just have to see how I get on.

As for the name I wouldn't name baby the same as a close friends baby ie someone you see often however if it was just a normal friend I would use the name if it was one I really liked :) we've already chosen our name and only one person has said it's not nice but to be honest I don't think they have much taste ;) xx

  • wow congratulations on the scans! only a week and a half until mine.

Hello to the newbies. Big congrats to abis, so glad to see another TTC buddy on here x

AFM more people commenting that I have a bump. I bought a new pair of maternity jeans from Dotty Ps last weekend and really like them - I now have under, over and on bump jeans LOL. Not sure what I like best. Just been to M&S outlet and got 2 everyday bras too. Boobs have expanded slightly but it's my back - 4 inches! Made the mistake of wearing a lace bra on Weds - OMG it was like my nipples were in fire! A nice round 19 weeks today :)

    Congratulations on the scans :j

I've got some new look maternity jeans, but they are too big for now (felt fine in the changing rooms, but fall down when I walk more than a few steps!) I'm sure I will grow in to them soon tho :D

I've lost weight so far from being sick and off my appetite, but then I am on the larger side so this is not a worry for me. I put on 1/2 a lb last week and so far am set to do the same again this week as the sickness is easing a little. I'd like to keep an eye on weight gain as with DD I gained 5.5 stone (altho I was a skinny wee thing before I was pregnant with her)

Being a facepainter (as well as working part time in a garage), I decided to announce my pregnancy on my facebook profile with this pic:

It was lots of fun to paint a belly! Have been dying to do my friends bump for ages but I don't think she is as keen as me :rotfl:

abis that's very creative- looks great!

lemonmelon my midwife showed me the top of my uterus is just below belly button and said that was exactly where it should be (i was 16+5). When i lie down my tummy feels flat from ribs to belly button then there is a definite bump which stops your hand. When i'm standing the whole belly sticks out not just the lower half lol ;)

My most dreaded pregnancy symptom of last time has returned tonight. Mega-painful foot cramps. Does anyone else get these?
On a nicer note pretty sure I've been feeling movements this week :)
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)

Abi that looks amazing! Do you think you'll paint your bump when it's bigger? I love those pictures :-)

Thanks for the reassurance, I was just worried it was too high but it seems I'm not alone. I don't have any real bump though, definitely nobody that doesn't know me could tell. When I eat I get an instant food baby though!

Fluffysox, I get horrid cramps in my feet and legs in the middle of the night, it's not helping my sleeping but pretty normal I think.

No movement here either, every day I think maybe this will be the day!

I'm going to tell my grandad we're expecting this morning - it's his 86th birthday and he's really missing my granny who's been in hospital for about 3 months now, I thought it might cheer him up a little bit (I've made him his favourite coffee and walnut cake too)

Woke up with massive cramps down the side of my stomach last night but they went off when I turned over, was quite scary for a moment though. Been getting major cramps in my legs as well at night, and neck ache. Need to get some better pillows I think.

Had my risk assessment at work this week which was hilarious. One of the things in it is "move desk away from wall so there is room to get out". Yep, I'm expecting to be massive :)

Need to go bra shopping in a couple of weeks (no half decent shops here plus taking daughters on spending sprees for their birthdays to the nearest city). It's been 9yrs since I last needed to do this and my only choice was Mothercare. Can anyone recommend a good shop/bra? I would like to get nursing bras ideally and would need to be measured. Thanks in advance.
