Another newbie here :j I'm 12+2 today :j
I have a DD who is 7 next week  so this will be my 2nd, but have had a couple of losses in the meantime, so this has been a bit of a emotional rollercoaster to get to this stage. We lost our first baby a year ago today, so I like to think that our angel was looking out for us with our scan yesterday. :A
Looking forward to chatting with you all :jMarried my lobster in July 2011
TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait
 2013 is going to be our lucky year :dance:0 -
Another lurker coming out of the shadows.
I'm 19 weeks today and think I felt the baby move for the first time this morning.:j Was lying in bed and it felt like a fish doing somersaults in my tummy, was really weird. But they were definate movements and it happened twice. OH is very jealous that he can't feel it yet.
Only got a small bump, still in pre pregnancy clothes. Managed to lose a lot of weight in the 1st trimester which still hasn't gone back on. I do get worried every now and again that I should be eating more but my appetite still hasn't fully come back. Midwife reassures me that I will probably make up for it.:rotfl:Married since March 20120 -
Welcome Lola, Abis and EngagedLady - recognise some names from the 12 weeks and under board
Good luck everyone with scans today!:j
Toothfairy - I was hoping to stay in my jeans a bit longer but then on a whim I bought some £20 maternity jeans from New Look and I have never looked back. They look great (like normal jeans, as long as I'm wearing a top that covers the waistband, which is fairly high up so not a problem) and they are SO comfortable!! Now is our time to get away with wearing elasticated waists, so I say go for it! :rotfl:0 -
Toothfairy I'm already wearing some of my old maternity clothes from DD. I can just about get in some of my pre-pregnancy stuff, but work stuff I couldn't be arsed to go out and buy loads of stuff that I know won't fit in a few months.
Go and get some cheap maternity trousers just in case. My fav pair were from New Look, H&M weren't bad eitherGot married 13/11/10

Well our baby GIRL cooperated perfectly this morning! Gutted dh wasn't there but thinking I might book a 3d scan as a surprise for his birthday at start of July, when I'll be about 30 weeks. (I think, no calendar handy and baby brain is fully engaged!)0

I think it's old fashioned but it's the only remaining family name we like other than agnes which is a bit too old fashioned. Or is it really bad form to use the same name as (not very close) friends? (they are more friends of a friend, but their baby is all over Facebook and they know all our friends).
I think if you like the name then you should go for it!
As for Mary, I love it - its my first name (although I don't use it) it's also my youngests first name (she also uses her middle name!) my mum and both my grandmothers.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -

I really like Mary and would use it if I didn't have a good friend with that name (trying to avoid looking like we've named babies after people etc). So you should definitely use it0 -
Hiya girls, just to let you know scan went well, eventually! my lil BOY! was very fidgety and was not letting them get a view of the top of his head at all, after they made me toss and turn for about five mins the sonographer eventually tricked him into staying still. but so happy to be Team Blue!Started comping again....Oct wins already!:£250 philosophy goody bag, £50 itunes voucher, £30 amazon voucher.....why did i ever stop!0

We want family names and its my mums name, my grandmas mums name and my great great aunts name. We also like Ella as its a form of helen which is a family name but I don't think it's good to use your own name for a baby (tempting though!).
I second newlook maternity jeans btw - lovely Bergundy skinny jeans and normal denim ones.
I retract all comments about having a bump as loads of people said they "couldn't tell"given i am 23wks I'd quite like to show now
