16 weeks today & went for 16 week check.
Did this at a local drop in centre so saw a different midwife to initial appt at local surgery.
Blood pressure & wee checked. No bloods taken. She updated my record book with results from hospital blood tests. They were all OK.
She then had a listen to heartbeat - 140/150 bpm.
Only in with her for 10 mins - sometimes it's good to be straight forward!
She asked me if I had thought about antenatal classes. The local ones are on a Tuesday afternoon & the hospital do some weekend ones. She couldn't give me any more detail about the hospital ones so just gave me the number to contact them.
If we can make the weekend ones, I would prefer that option.
Hope everyone is well & got plenty of vitamin D at the weekend. Off to Spain on Saturday so hoping for plenty more.0 -
Sounds like a good appt TTC40. Enjoy your holiday to Spain. We're off to Spain too - but not until June. Whereabouts are you going?
16 weeks for me too today and I had my 16 week appt. For the first time ever my pee pot sample wasn't normal. They used their dipstick and found traces of blood and nitrate, so have sent it off for further testing. MW thought possible UTI, but no pain from me so a good thing they do the testing really. Also hear the heartbeat - the mw found it straightaway - was more of a speeding train sound than a galloping horse, so could be a boy?! All a bit of a fun as we're not finding out the sex. My next appt is my scan at 21 weeks - seems ages away!
Hope everyone is having a good day0 -
We're staying just north of Murcia on Costa Blanca.
What about you?0 -
Hi all, I'm 23+2 today and I've got a cold coming on!!
Went to stay with my parents at the weekend and got a few things sorted, so our pram is on order, have a Moses basket and a few sleep suits, vests and socks0 -
Today is the day...20 week scan at 12:20pm. Soooo excited.
Got work first but leaving about 5 to 12 so can get parked etc, luckily it's close to my work.
Up until now didn't want to find out what we were having, hubby has always wanted to know. However might cave in through excitement, lol.
Have a lovely day all.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
scan here today as well! keep swapping between nervous and excited. really hope baby plays ball and we find out if it's a girl or boy! Scan at 9.30, then meant to have the day off with DH, but got to work for a few hours :-( at least I'm out and about and not actually at the office, so it's not too bad, and in fact DH might come with me anyway!0

Well, it appears we have a little trouble maker on our hands!! Just like at our 12 week scan, baby refused point blank to co-operate and move into position, meaning they had a hard time checking everything. In the end, after being in for nearly an hour, they checked everything apart from the face and nose as every time baby showed its face, it would have its hands in front so they still couldn't check! Also unable to tell us if girl or boy, as the important bits were lying right under my belly button and apparently this causes a shadow making it hard to see. So I'm to go back again tomorrow morning for another try. DH will be working but my mum will come with me. Everyone seems to think its really funny bump is giving us the runaround already, before its even arrived!0

Hi there!
16 weeks tomorrow and today I had an antenatal appointment with the diabetes nurse. Whole I was there, they offered to let me hear the heartbeat. What an amazing sound!! I'm glad for that reassurance as my 16 week midwife appointment isn't until 17 weeks!0 -
Back home from work and can finally look at my pictures & notes properly from the scan today.
Amazed at what they can see & check. Everything was fine, developing as it should, I was amazed at what they can tell, didn't realise they checked the face, well lips for cleft palate etc.
We got 5 amazing photos, one of it's little foot and a super clear one of it stretching it's leg out and flexing it's foot up. The other 3 were of it laying on its back, one with it's arm to its chin.
Hubby and I decided to find out the sex, but keep it to ourselves, we liked the idea of having something special about this pregnancy that only we just knew.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Awh continual diamond, I'm so jealous lol! We got no pics, nothing very clear, nothing! Hoping tomorrow is better but DH will miss it again0
