Top of tummy, just under b*obs is really sore just after lunch, what a weird place to be sore! But it's the right hand side and has happened before, think the bra that needs to go isn't helping...:):)

Hi everyone, we went pram hunting at the weekend and we've went from not having a clue to at least having some sort of idea what we like pheww I quite liked the Babystyle oyster but after researching on the internet thought the Bugaboo Bee is a great idea being so compact, do any of you know of any other brands that is the same concept i.e. seat can be used as a car seat so no need for seperate carrycots etc suitable for newborn?0

How long did you need to wait for this? I had my scan and bloods done back on the 8th of this month and havent had a letter yet?
Thanks

Puzzled I never got a letter even though I was told I would. In the end I called the antenatal unit at the hospital and asked them. But then I got told the results at my 16 week appt anyway. It seems to be the case that if you are considered high risk they WILL contact you and if not, they just tell you when they next see you.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
Bella, we're going for tge iCandy cherry. It has that function but I think a fair few have. We just got ours from eBay because A) it saved us a packet and
if I don't get on with it I'll feel less guilty about swapping later on. My only concern is that it may be too lightweight but I didn't want to get something too heavy to begin with and regret it. We originally planned on the oyster which a friend has and loves but really liked the Cherry too and it overtook in the end.
I think it's so hard to decide when really you could do with a having a test run for a month!
Am I right in thinking that it's meant to be bad luck to keep your pushchair at home before baby is safely born?0 -
Puzzled, I got a letter quite quickly but I was told that it'd be a phonecall within 48 hours if the result concerned them.
Hey Claireloo - snap again, my result was 1 in 8800 so almost identical to you! I think we might need to compare names at this rate otherwise we'll end up with identical babies with the same names!!0 -
hi everyone... Bella not sure about that - worth asking on the main thread as they're more informed and I'm sure the question has been asked before - my mum wants me to wait until I'm a whale in August as she's superstitious (a proper european mama). OH also will be waiting until reality sinks in (and bump is huge) before even thinking about it, plus he's a real researcher so its going to take a while to choose one. I don't believe the bad luck thing (London living doesn't get me a garage/shed, my mum lives 180 miles away and I'm not going to be able to pop into mothercare on the way home from hospital
) its just that we literally have no room to keep a pram until I get rid of some junk. At the moment we're also focusing on a guest sofa bed as next priority - having had new boiler and lots of car stuff very recently - which reminds me I need to phone the plumber.
Anyway for anyone who'd like to know about my '16 week appointment'...
back from midwife... an hour late as *** receptionist didn't book me in on their system when I came in, even though I specifically asked... "oh no she does it all handwritten... just go upstairs and wait"... an hour later and I'm still sat in stuffy waiting room holding my pee pot like a dummy aaaaargh!
Not much use I have to say, did wee test (all good) and blood pressure (also good) and phoned up for booking bloods (no nasty stuff and O+ve so no anti Ds either) and that was it
so we will have to wait till 13th april for 20 week scan to check on baby. Hopefully by then the flutters will be more obvious - she said to expect proper movements by 24 weeks... and I was already so late for work that I didn't push her to listen for hb - so long to wait... hmmmpf
ah well at least all seems to be looking good so far - and she didn't even weigh me :rotfl:
puzzled... had booking at 8 weeks (was actually 11weeks) and midwife had to phone for results today at 17+6 so waited almost 7 weeks. I was also told that they'd post results but even my GP/midwife didn't have them - I guess as usual no news is good news
sorry for long post but I'm always wanting to ask/share these things and OH goes blank when I go into detail with him
good luck for others and looking forward to our new 12 week-ers joining xteam yellow
Can't wait to meet you now baby!0 -
Forumgazer sorry it was a bit pants, it's horrible too when you have to wait so long with a full bladder! We did a similar thing at the 12 week scan after the scan. The receptionist at the scan told us to sit and wait whilst she was finishing some bits, as we wanted to book in for the 20 week appointment. We waited and waited. Waited some more. Waited. Got a bit annoyed but waited more to be polite. Finally I went up and said 'excuse me can we book our appointment now, it's just we have to get back to work'. She sort of looked up and said something like 'well I was waiting for you to give me your maternity notes'. I was fuming!
Bella I am not sure... you have me wondering now, as hubby is desperate to get the new pram from my work, as it's been sitting there since Mothercare delivered it. Now I am not sure if I want it at home!
Can anyone confirm what Braxton Hicks actually are? I understand they're 'fake' contractions that you can start to get around the 20 week mark onwards, but what do they feel like? I saw on am American forum that it's when the tummy hardens. If that is the case, I have had them for around 4 weeks now. But I thought it was the baby moving? It makes more sense for it to be baby moving, as it's often a specific area rather than whole tummy hardeing sort of thing, for me anyway.:):)

Hi everyone, hope you're all keeping well. I've my 20 week scan tomorrow and I'm feeling a little nervous today, can't stop thinking about it. It will be great to see baby again as I still don't feel pregnant most of the time, though my belly seems to have grown lots this past week. I still think I just look fat though, I can't wait until I look more obviously pregnant:D Re movements I have felt flutterings a few times but nothing definite like proper kicks yet, although I guess its still relatively early?
bella, sorry I'm no help on the pram front. I've been looking online this past week and its so overwhelming, its hard to know where to start. I like the look of the icandy too doglover, though I think it was the peach I was looking at? I really need to go see some in real life soon though, and get a move on with being organised. So far I've only bought a cot bedding set and some wipes, so am so disorganised compared to most of you:o
Quick question, do I need to have a full bladder for the scan tomorrow?:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
Forumgazer, I had to beg to hear the HB at my 16w app because apparently the rules changed that day! They took pity and listened. Other than that my app was the same as yours. I was told that after my next scan I'm to make a further MW app for approx 25 weeks. My scans are at the local hosp and I see the midwife at my gp but when I give birth it'll be at hospital with different midwives! We managed to get our 20 w scan booked straight after the 12w scan but we were late going in. The midwife is always atleast 30 mins late though!
I'm glad all your tests were good and everything is progressing well.
As for Braxton Hicks I imagine they'll terify me when they happen! I think I'll need lots of you assuring me that they are BH and not real labour as I imagine that I'll embaress myself with going to hospital under false pretences! My dh knows the hospital staff well so I suspect he'll try and avoid embaressment. I've already been told to be a silent surene (sp?) women in labour. I told him to f off in no uncertain terms!
I think I can feel flutters again so hopefully I was being neurotic and not relaxing and concentrating previously!
I can't wait for this next scan! Do we have anymore after that?
My mum has said she'll buy the eBay bargain pushchair so that's double mse!!0
