i personally wouldn't worry. as your prob feeling them ,but busy doing other things so you don't notice them as much as you would if say you were laying still.

I'm having lots of kicks but then this is 4th pregnancy so it is known u do feel things early on.

but if your worried hun, then i'm sure your midwife wont mind you texting or phoning her.

jcr sorry to hear you had your day ruined. All I can say (as an FT mum) is that if you can arrange a childminder for a day or two, it might enable hubby to come with you, or maybe midwife can advise as others have suggested. Chin up babe, remember how good you felt on Sat and don't let anyone take that from you.

DogLover I am 23 weeks today and maybe it's because it's my first but I mainly feel the occasional flutter, no rib bruising kicks as of yet. Tends to be early morning and after food that I feel something but not always. I really want to be out of this inbetweeny stage and something tells me that in the next week or so I will regret saying that... I also don't have an actual person to call, so I tend to call the ante natal clinic at hospital, maybe try that? It's quite normal not to always feel bubs though, esp if it's your first, all those strong muscles that we'll never get back eh...!

Adjusted the length of my Mamalicious maternity jeans yesterday so looking forward to wearing them tomorrow. I guess in the hot Summer they will be no use though, but I already know that the Yummy Mummy shop/site has their new season stuff in late April and that this will include linen trousers etc, so will wait to then...

Doglover - I have been thinking that my flutters aren't as frequent or as strong as they were a couple of weeks ago but I am still feeling them if I sit very quietly for half an hour or so. Before getting pg I was quite a regular gym goer and I guess maybe my stomach muscles were better than I thought and that's why I can't feel baby as much as I would like. Hopefully all is OK tho. We have our scans on Friday so hopefully we'll be reassured then

  • Hi Doglover... and other 'ladies plus ones'

feeling much the same about flutters/movement - haven't helped myself with my new angelsounds over the weekend as I didn't really hear anything even though I'm 18w tomorrow but having read back pigpen says she'd never felt any of hers with angelsounds so am much less worried now, thanks for that info PP - I only got something after a long time and very low down, not a gallop but very fast defined beat definitely around 120-150beats a min - baby probably hiding behind placenta and a weak doppler can't hear it.

Still had fun with all the lotion on my exposed belly and at least all my family's heart beats sound good - even OH's which if you read back my posts is also a relief x will have to get good recording of my own heartbeat for later use

I have my '16 week' appointment today so hopefully midwife will check it all anyway - ah aren't we all little worriers. Also had Down's screening results from bloods in post on Sat which are '1 in 42000' so good result so far

Thanks for your input too Sparkle though I suspect that strong abdominals won't be an issue here... :rotfl: also looking forward to kicks so will have to be patient I guess

    Love to all x

    Sorry you're feeling sad jcr.

Doglover - at 16 week app, midwife gave me a leaflet about movement. I'll go and find it now. She said it's really important to monitor movement later on but they get loads of people in the middle stage who have felt some movement and then it stops but it's because they're not that far along. Could be baby growing and moving to a place you can feel as well. I'll go and find the leaflet. She was basically saying it's normal and not to panic but of course, I'm not you, and you know what you could feel before. Don't ignore it if you are worried. Hoe long until next appointment?

Leaflet from my local nhs trust says they start asking about feeling baby's movements at each appointment after 24 weeks.

Thnks ladies, you're all great at being there with support and info. I don't know how people get through pregnancy without this forum!

I'm gonna try and chill a bit and spend some time this eve trying to feel it. The scan is on Friday so that'll be the full reassurance (hopefully!) I need.
