Sigh, I need a virtual slap. I keep googling the effects of slapped cheek on pregnancy. Now starting to worry as I have had headaches and a sore throat for the last week.

My main worry is that I wont get a doctors appointment tomorrow due to the usual bank holiday influx. Can I insist on an appointment due to the circumstances? Normally I wouldnt be too bothered about having to wait but I think the quicker that this is done the better. Hospital specifically said it had to be my GP. Not sure if I can go to midwife instead.

I know the chances of having it are very slim but I cant help but worry.

Most adults have antibodies to it from childhood.

Maybe you just have a sore throat (mine is caused by the pregnancy snoring!!) and the headaches are due to dehydration or fretting over the sore throat, lack of sleep, hormone changes.

Do you have any of the other symptoms? upset tummy? itchy skin? joint pain? if not... behave yourself and get away from google!

    Parvovirus B19 infection in adults

The most common symptom of a parvovirus B19 infection in adults is
joint pain and stiffness in your:

    • hands
    • knees
    • wrists
    • ankles

Other symptoms, such as developing a fever and
sore throat, are rare in adults.

In most people, the symptoms of a parvovirus B19 infection will
pass within one to three weeks, although one-in-five adults will experience
recurring episodes of joint pain and stiffness for several months, sometimes
    years.

It is therefore not really going to be that is it?

During pregnancy google is not your friend on health related matters!

I know I'm worrying over nothing but its always the fear of the unknown.

Cant do anything until tomorrow anyway, at least my LO is more himself, hopefully everything is clearing up.

Nikki, hope everything is OK, I'm sure it will be. There seems to be a lot of slapped cheek syndrome on the go just now, I have several friends and family members that work in various schools and there always seems to be an outbreak somewhere - I can't say I'd even heard of it until a couple of months ago!

AFM, I'm now 15+3, and been full of the cold for 2 weeks now, and it's making me REALLY miserable :-( can't get a good nights sleep as I wake up with a sore throat and unable to breathe through my nose. So I'm grumpy all the time, and DH is trying to stop smoking so he is grumpy too, so ours is not a particularly happy home just now lol! Anyone got any tips of how to help deal with his moods? I've been so tempted over the weekend to tell him just to go and buy a packet of fags if it'll make him happy and stop stomping about!

Been working most of the bank holiday, but have tomorrow and Wed off, so looking forward to some Me time!

Hope you're both feeling better soon b2b and Nikki.

AFM I've got my anomily scan on Friday. I'm starting to get a bit nervous. I hope everythig is OK. We don't want to know the sex, so I'm hoping they can hide it from us.

We went looking at prams yesterday. I didn't realise how fussy I would be. The one I really liked that had everything I wanted was far too heavy. I didn't see anything else that ticked all the boxes. :o

I have another 2 weeks to wait for my anomilly scan :( Why my hospital insists on doing it at 22 weeks I do not know. Just want confirmation that I am having a girl this time so we can get going on the nursery and to get our name list on the go.

I have a cervix scan on Monday though (oh the glamour) and last time they did a quick scan after that, so hoping I may get the same again. Just want to know baby is still there, although I think I felt some faint kicking over the weekend, and OH is sure he could..I had just eaten a curry though so it could have been wind!

20 weeks on Thursday. I cannot believe I am halfway there already!

My anomaly scan is the 25th so an age away.. still only the 4 real people know about it.. not including any of our siblings or parents.. we've simply not seen them. I am getting a bit anxious about it tbh.. I am very very convinced it is girl number 8 and OH really wants it to be a boy and regardless of whose bits determine gender I can't help but feel guilty if it isn't a boy. I've had 5 consecutive girls.. it surely means I am due a boy?! Bounty says it is a boy :p another guarantee it isn't!

Lots of kicking the last couple of days while I have been unable to move as my hips are so painful.. just shows how much I miss when I am a busy bunny.

Anyway, the 25th can't come quick enough! I have considered fibbing to get a sooner scan because I am dishonest.

Had my scan and everything looks normal :) It's a boy which means the Bounty predictor was right again!
